Description
Barioth are large predatory wyverns that inhabit cold, snowy regions such as Mountains, Tundras, and Polar Seas. Their long, pointed claws allow them to grip onto frozen ground with ease. These solitary hunters prefer to prey on large, thick-furred prey such as Popo, Lagombi, or even young Gammoth; their characteristic knife-like tusks punching through their thick hides with little resistance. One such hunting tactic that Barioth employ is to fire a blast of freezing compressed air into the ground, stirring up a small tornado of wind/snow, which reduces prey's visability. Barioth can even use the tornado as lift for themselves to launch an aerial attack on the prey animal (or perhaps an unsuspecting hunter).Monster Hunter is owned by Capcom.

Awesome textures and colors here, the amber tusks were always my favorite part of the design.
This guy was one of my top favorites design wise from third gen, along with Brachydios and Stygian Zinogre.

Thank you! It's definitely my favorite part too; so bright and colorful in comparison to it's overall white and grey body. Brachy And Stygi are real fun too; I know I'd like to go back and work on them too.

I'd love to see your renditions of those two. Uragaan was also a big favorite of mine. I feel like a lot of his features would translate well into a new Ultraman monster of the week for some reason.

BARIOTH!!! The cryoth, sabertooth, tornado, wyvern! Lovely recreation, I love how you have really made the blue eyes and orange fangs and thagomizers stick out amongst his ashy skin/fur and carapace. BTW, HE'S COMING BACK!!!!!!

Thanks man! Glad you like it! Barioth's my 3rd favorite monster, so I was bound to do him at some point. And I just love the color contrast between his fangs/thagomizer.
Also super hyped about him coming back! Along with Diablos, he was one of the two monsters I was disappointed to not see return initially.

I KNOW, I'M SO HYPED!! Barioth was one of the two monsters in particular I was disappointed that they didn't bring back for MHGen (him and Diablos). But now we get him AND Diablos back! AND Diablos gets a deviant. It just keeps getting better and better.

I mean 4 Ultimate is awesome too don't get me wrong. But personally, I love the variety in MHGen; More monsters, more quests, different styles, etc.
However MHGen is getting an expansion version sometime next year, so if you end up liking MH4U, then you could jump right into "Monster Hunter Double Cross"!

Double Cross is considered a different game; sort of how Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is an expanded edition of Monster Hunter 4, but sold as a new game. Double Cross will be pretty much the same as Generations, but will have tons more content; including more Monsters, new locations, more weapons, more armors, new hunting styles, and G-rank; something that Generations was lacking. Honestly, it's pretty much going to be the fullest MH experience yet!

He certainly is! Though I haven't had too much trouble dealing with him in game. I WILL say his body-checks and tail-whips sometimes catch me off guard.
