The last member of the Scarletithe, Needles was raised by Vince and Marcy; the Parents of Rabies. He's a laid-back, carefree soul who tries to look on the bright side of things and finds no use in constantly worrying about something. Needles likes to live in the moment, and thus, is not very good at making plans or sticking to a schedule. He's ever so slightly narcissistic and enjoys being witty and sarcastic. Despite his love of adventure, Needles can also be quite lazy; notably when requested to do something against his pleasure, and enjoys relaxing and avoiding labor. He is an avid fan of adventure and exploration, and this is what ultimately motivates him in the work he does. In his off-time he enjoys lounging, watching television, playing games, eating, and smoking herbs.

Needles is clever, and good at reading people and trying to understand them. He and Rabies have a close, brotherly friendship, but can occasionally get tired of Rabies' attitude and stubbornness. Many people have ostracized Needles because of the fact he is Scarletithe, but he usually brushes it aside and ignores it.
Needles is still trying to understand how to better control his Umbral Powers with the help of his friends.
