Description

Seeing as there is the Neopacific Ocean, is there any connection to our Earth or is that even it after some apocalyptic event?

Yep, Desolearth is the result of an Apocalyptic event that occurred simultaneously on Earth and it's parallel Umbra Macra (the original homeworld of Demonkind) due to a malfunction of a Scarletithe device known as the Unworlder Engine. The Unworlder Engine was only meant to allow the Scarletithe to travel to another world, but it was used before it could be perfected, and instead, it caused an inter-dimensional scale apocalypse between both worlds that ripped continents apart and fused them together; creating the fusion world of Desolearth.

Did humanity survive the apocalypse and if so, how is the state of our society at this point?
(Sorry if you have already addressed all this in another post, I’m just really intrigued by this concept)

Humanity survived, but we took a heavy toll on the numbers (reduced to a couple million) from the "Great Merging" alone. If that wasn't enough, the Scarletithe, led by the ruthless Arch-Demon, sought to strike while the iron was hot, and attempted to dominate humanity and take over Desolearth; which lead to a mass war between the Scarletithe and the "Alleviators" (Humanity and the non-Scarletithe demon races). I go more in depth about it in the newly revised Prologue: Welcome to Desolearth: The Needles Story .
Basically, the Alleviators triumphed over the Scarletithe, and the modern setting of Needles takes place over 20 years after the war; where society has become a mixed bag of humans and the other demon races; slowly re-building a new society for all to live in peace (which is jeopardized by the appearance of several factions; many of which look to spread their dominance). The setting is comparable to something along the lines of Fallout/Borderlands/Mad Max.

I would say the coasts of Paraclux, Galadia, and Shavrona, and the tear-drop shaped island to the west of Paraclux would be what you’re looking for.
