Description ~Chibi Goth and Axe~ *Updated*

Update 2008/11/19:
I forgot to include the red piece in the axes, so this now includes the axes as they were originally supposed to be. I also took the opportunity to make this version a little more colorful since the original was rather pale.

This is to show off the new pair of fantasy axes I have modeled in 3DSMAX for a friend. The design is from an online game he has been playing (not sure what) that he wanted to use in Poser. The "Pretty Fluff" outfit is also create by me, here in Gothic black. Eye textures by me as well.

Figure is Nearme. Hope you like it and thanks for coming by!

I used to have it at Rosity, but I no longer have an account there. Then I posted it at my personal homepage, which is also down now. So it's not available online for the time being.

I have to update my CP store, and possibly start a new one at RDNA.

It said 1-2 days...
Wow.

They suck badly
I'm surprised they still exist with that kind of service.

Content Paradice on the other hand wont let me upload anything without signing a Tax thing...
Not even for free it seems o-o

I've had it with Rosity. Sales there used to be better than CP, but I can't stand the policy. When I thought it was already bad, they kept changing it to make it worse. Not to mention the orthodox puritan censorship on everything. O__O

CP is just like other online stores - liability galore.

I have an account there too, but I only post pictures. ^^

Models like that sword are perfect to model with splines. Everything flat with complex shapes can be created in just a couple minutes using splines. Things have been much simplified since I figured that out.

I need help with getting a chain on it though, no idea how to bone it properly or how to get the bone to STAY when I export as an OBJ!

ken1171 In reply to TheRamosOnline [2011-10-10 21:49:11 +0000 UTC]

As when I created that KeyBlade model with a chain hanging from the hilt, there are 2 ways to have that done:

1) Make it a prop, and the chain is controlled by morphs.
2) Make it a figure, and the chain in then controlled by bones.

Both methods have pros and cons.

TheRamosOnline In reply to ken1171 [2011-10-10 22:06:54 +0000 UTC]

I think bones would have been better, as if you see when you use the morphs the end of the chain (The mickey mouse thing) also bends.

ken1171 In reply to TheRamosOnline [2011-10-10 22:13:35 +0000 UTC]

That can be avoided by disabling "bending" for that part of the chain you don't want to be affected. ^^

A game that allows free roaming around a large set should have enough variety to keep you occupied, but somehow PSU failed right there... -_-

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

melficexd In reply to ken1171 [2008-11-24 11:26:08 +0000 UTC]

Because the large environments, although pretty, have very little to offer the player than an spectacular view. And very little interaction outside killing monsters.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ken1171 In reply to melficexd [2008-11-24 20:15:17 +0000 UTC]

And then make killing monsters repetitive and you have the formula for boredom...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

melficexd In reply to ken1171 [2008-11-25 14:21:50 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, but the point of PSU is playing it among friends, but i guess that even like that, the game loses its charm quite soon.

I actually don't like much of computer puzzles. I think they can often make adventure games look frustrating and disconnected, and may have been a major cause for the fall of that gaming genre.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

melficexd In reply to ken1171 [2008-12-01 19:33:25 +0000 UTC]

I think that it is because all of them try to look like tetris precisely, His inventor was astonished when he saw what it turned out of his 48Kb program... And because Tetris needs insane amounts of attention. in exchange adventure games don't need that "constant" attention, but that the world around you change, so, the game is dynamic. But it may happen that the changes are soooooo slow that the game itself becomes boring, and repetitive, because the changes are meant to be because the level of the characters.

ken1171 In reply to melficexd [2008-12-01 23:37:39 +0000 UTC]

I personally think that adventure games should be about story telling and interactivity between the characters, not between the player and puzzles...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

melficexd In reply to ken1171 [2008-12-02 21:35:26 +0000 UTC]

Indeed, but for some odd reason, people believes adventure games are about hacking every place in the map, and looking for items.
