I am particularly fond of how this one came out! A wonderful lady sent me her design and accompanying prayers for a set of prayer beads she wanted done. She was the ideal person for me to work with, because she gave me concrete details such as bead numbers and colors, but left everything else up to me. She also chose the components which were handmade from other artisans.

I've bounced back and forth on posting my beadwork to this account primarily because it tends to be religious or spiritual in nature, but I've settled on going for it.

I make prayer beads and rosaries from many different religious traditions, ranging from traditional hand-chained Catholic, to Baha'i, to Buddhist and Hindu malas. I've designed my own patterns for interfaith sets, for different branches of paganism, and even secular worry bead sets.

This may offend some people. But I find every religion to be very moving and beautiful, and if an individual doesn't mind that I may not follow their exact path, then I am more than happy to work with them!

This is beautiful. Why would anyone be offended with such a lovely piece?

I applaud your work and hope you keep right on doing what you feel is good and right. If you don't offend someone, somewhere, then you probably haven't done it right, lol. A very wise person told me there is no one right path - each path has a piece of the truth, and together, we get it right. I also work for more than one path in my crafting and offer to do handfastings/weddings regardless of a person's religious persuasion. If they come to me and ask for my help, I try to help. Go for it! Lady Cliona (Mrs Kes)

Thank you so, so much! When I was working on my bachelors in religious studies, that's the same conclusion I came to: "each path has a piece of the truth, and together, we get it right." I know I will always offend someone, but that doesn't make it any easier on me, haha! A large part of the problem is the area I live in, and the future career path I'm working on. I'll probably have to remove most of this stuff off of my account, but that's the future. I figure I might as well have it up now.

This is a fantastic piece. I love the use of real stone beads.

Where did you get the pentacle with the three rings? I wouldn't mind ordering some of those for my own jewelry projects.

Thank you so much! I try and work primarily with genuine stone versus glass or acrylic because of their weight. They feel so comforting to me, and you can't beat how they look!

The pentacle was purchased from an Etsy seller, whose store is here . It was the larger one they offer. It's sterling so it's a bit more pricey, but I've seen comparable ones made of pewter on Etsy as well.

This is gorgeous! I like this idea, and I don't find it offensive in any way. Many religions have prayer beads, they just go by different names.

Thank you! Yeah, I'm probably overreacting...I have a tendency to do that.

Just a quick look through your gallery shows me that you're really good! I'm gonna look at it more indepth in a moment. I get all my commission work through Etsy, are you set up on them? And thank you for the kind comment! I also love the stag. I think I may buy more from that designer in the future.

This is beautiful! How much would you charge for something like this? I'm not sure I have concrete details I could give you (as you say your buyer had), but I could probably come up with them.

Hi, and thank you!

Prices vary wildly depending on materials, and whether it's threaded like this one, or chain-linked (which is super time intensive). I'd say the average price of the commissions I do is $20-$30. That's for basic glass or stone beads about 6mm to 8mm (the little white and black ones on this piece are 6mm, for reference)and base metal components.

I don't usually get concrete details from people like I did with this one. Normally it's, "could you design me a prayer bead set for this purpse?". So I can work either way.

And beading helps keep me sane amidst my art classes. So unless some major crisis is going on in my life, I'm always open for bead commissions. <3

I'll keep that in mind. I don't think I have anything to request just now, but it certainly caught my attention. Great work!
