i think i will, unfortunately i have to work in a little bit so it will have to wait until tomorrow. is it just me, or are characters wtih four arms a little more difficult to draw than they look?

the can be when you are sure how or where to place the extra arms. i used the goro example from Mortal Kombat. he basicall has a lengthened torso with and extra set of pecs and shoulders right under and slightly behind the top set. but but for this one i had to imagine he also had an extra set of trapizi(i thinkg thats what those back muscles are called).

yeah goro was a good inspiration for mine. i'll try to find the old drawing and scan it, while it is an old drawing the character is still active in stories haha. of course i wanted him to have dragon kind of feet to so that made it even harder. eventually he had a hunched kind of look which was needed to make him look balanced and believable. took a lot of work, but i think i got it in the end

oh yea. dragon feet were hard for me too but i think im getting better. well i hope you upload them soon. do you have any deeper plans with your characters and stories?

so far i have six novels written (5 needing to be rewritten since their a bit old) but the stories are there. and the entire world is created and most of the stories coexist in same places during the same areas at times. I hope to be able to produce more stories, but the art is time consuming and work to. My friend and i are slowly working on a card game/video game but times are busy for both.

Oh Wow. ive been looking into making a Trading card game too! im currently reading about flash game programming (its not going so well. i can only do basic funtions). Im doing alot too. im reading programming, practicing art, Studying kanji harder up for my upcomming japanese class... and i magine what once i start work soon and school with all that i may not have time for anything either

i'm not too keen on the programming side either though i've done minor things in the past. thankfully i have a few friends that do, but like my artist friend we all have lives in separate areas so meeting up is difficult

Yeah, it doesnt help that flash action script is so tedious and rediculous at times. ive taken javascript and C++ class and i can say Flash actionscript is much harder than those 2. yeah times are very hard since life has become so complicated over the years. nowadays, if you arent related to someone or know some one that knows someone, its hard to find a job and when you do it takes more from you and what you aspire to do. Meeting up to discus things has become even harder too but Hopefully you can skype with your friends because if you really do have some who are good at that then you gotta push for it. its kinda hard to find a circle of friends that have such skills.

well i'm sure we'll need more artists to contribute for the card game soon, though for the first project we all work for free haha.

LOL, thats exactly why i say its good to have friends with those skills. random professionals want payment up front. well it would be quite interesting to see how it comes out.

we've been working for a long time so at least we're determined. its hard to keep any handful of friends around (and productive) for very long.

i guess. and at times it can seem hopeless so maybe some of them have waivering conviction. I have given up Lots of times. but i stil feel that if you guys can plan it out and comprimise and sacrifice a little, there should be a way to make sure something gets done.

yeah i've given up and taken breaks from art plenty of times. i'm stubborn though so something is bound to come threw eventually. hoping to get something published or some kind of fan base eventually, we all work hard on our art and feedback is always motivating for one person or a group.

Oh that's what I mean to ask. What do you know about publishing and copywrite?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Fasleth101 In reply to kaze-fox [2012-07-19 06:13:59 +0000 UTC]

hard to tell, i've read up on it plenty of times, but things change from year to year i think so it would probably good to read up again. as far as publishing, there are a few different ways to go, some expensive and some very difficult and the others... well i haven't figured that out yet haha

kaze-fox In reply to Fasleth101 [2012-07-19 06:17:04 +0000 UTC]

Well then,I guess it would be best to develope it first then apply copywrite layer.

oh wow. your digging into the oldies! this was back when i was really learning how to color with photoshop. what i did here was use a soft, low opacity brush on lighten mode to create glow.

he's a little of both. he's evil in the sense that he knows the orders he's given are sometimes immoral but he still carried them out. but at the same time, he feels guilt and his pressure of having to prove his worth to a human society that think little of its anthromorphic citizens drives him. plus his loneliness makes him extra bitter.

thats awesome, i may try to draw and/or color him. i have a character (not in my gallery yet) who is a demon questioning his role right before armageddon.. or at least fasleth's version of it haha. always fun to do heros, villains, or mix up the both.

kaze-fox In reply to Fasleth101 [2012-07-18 21:29:43 +0000 UTC]

well I think the characters who are neither good or bad reflect the reality of many people in the real world. we often dont know what we'll be like in the future. social pressures often clashes or influences our actions and attitudes. and the that very unpredictability make life kinda exciting. and bringing that excitement and realism to a story can be good. so i would say those kind of inbetween characters are probably the best.

i totally agree. as i grow as a writer (still having a lot to grow) the characters start writing the story for me. i wrote a trilogy and by the end of the third book, one guy betrayed another and another main guy got killed and i didn't see it coming, just kinda went with how it felt at the time. i was shocked haha. i'm glad to see another fan of creating good characters and the art to go along with them.

I like images but i enjoy reading too. even when i play rpgs like skyrim, i read all of their insignificant story books you find throughout the game. I have a few stories but i havent written any down since i was 14. I think i probably havent written anything recent because there is alot going on right now and that i have little hope id be noticed. i think thats another reason i work on digital art skills. if i can make an image that attracts, then maybe someone would be interested in the story.
