This was one of the larger arches - I'm glad there was a road up the canyon so we could get the perspective

me too. It seems like there should be someone to file a complaint with for scenic areas without a good spot to take pictures of them

Two summers ago my daughter and I took a 2 week trip in North Carolina - we did a day drive on the Appalachia Hwy (Blue Ridge Parkway) and we kept pulling off at the "overlooks" only to discover that the trees had all grown up and there were no views!!  And of course when there were views there were cliffs so no chance to pull over

The government should do something about that!

There have been many times that I tried getting good pictures out of the window of the car while my husband drives, and I think I've got a few posted somewhere that I took WHILE driving (not smart ), but suffice to say that I know your pain all too well.

When my daughter and I are out on a drive I make her keep her camera out so I can "direct" her like this one -   and  ... wait, wait, wait NOW!!!

I only chose those that did "work"

I'm also lucky that my husband is pretty good about stopping or slowing for me to shoot when I'm out with him too

My husband does his best, but he won't slow or obstruct traffic. He's a responsible sweetie like that.

mine won't do it on busy roads but where we live there are lots of "back" roads Also we live on a mile long gravel road - we're at the end and there are less than a dozen homes on it...The marmot shot I got last week had me stopped in the middle of the road

Marmots! There's a girl I "watch" that lives in Romania with the username Marmot. She does great photography and is lucky to live near some gorgeous mountains *envious*

We live in an area filled with traffic and alcoholics crammed together. Makes for bad drivers. There's also large groups of people that wander around the streets... we've taken to calling them "pedigangs", because they're pedestrians trying to look tough at passing cars.
