Description Another dragon wallpaper! Well, Stormy the Storm Dragon has spent quite a while as my wallpaper, and I wanted a new one. So here's Hunter! He's a bit more lizard-y than most of my other dragons. He was such fun to draw, even if his scales threatened to kill my hand.

Most of my dragons are covered with fur or feathers, because I hate drawing scales. I think you did an awesome job on them! Looks like he is hunting something o.o *hides*

Scales are definitely a challenge, but I like trying them because (if it works) the effect is nice. And my family had just adopted a Bearded Dragon lizard, so I tried to base the scale effect off him. Hehe!

Aww, you're lucky. *want's lizard too*
I should try to color a scaled dragon soon o.o

I would highly recommend bearded dragons. They can eat both crickets and veggies, and they're surprisingly social. Plus, they're diurnal so they're awake when you are. And they're friendly and like being handled.

If you do try a scaled dragon, I'd love to see the result!

The problem is that I live in Norway. And it's not legal to own reptiles here except if you're allergic against other pets. (I think it was something like that)

But yeah, I'll try to do a scaled dragon one day ^^

Aww, that's very sad that you can't have one as a pet. Reptiles are awesome pets, but it's best to abide by the laws. There's probably some reason they don't want a lot of reptiles running about. And good luck with the dragon-drawing!

That is a fantastic piece of work! The scales and textures are really amazing, and I particularly love the gleam of his eye. The greenish lines of his chest and particularly the neck seem too pronounced and cartoony compared with the rest of the body, but the chiseled facial features are what really draw my attention. Excellent!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Katolin In reply to RedDrgn [2006-07-21 01:40:50 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! And yes, I only realized later after much staring (sometimes I get accustomed to a drawing and I can't truly see it....) that the neck was rather off. I'll keep it in mind for future draconic works (of DOOM!) and perhaps get over rushing the body compared to the face. Thanks for the critique! I'm glad you like his eyes. I love drawing eyes, heheheh.
