Description
Just in time for fall, a nice autumny painting for Enaxn! Switchback (maltese tiger) and Ckazz (moose) meet in the shade of an autumn tree. These two are adoptive siblings; Switchback was taken in by Ckazz's parents when she was a cub. Much to Ckazz' chagrin at times I bet, Switchback is rambunctious and tricksy! Ckazz usually has one stunted antler, which I nubbled down even more so that it wouldn't cover his eye. The nice long composition of this one was super fun to work with, plus the color scheme. I love painting mountains, whee!

How do your characters come to be together? As in, like.. how did the tiger get to moose country?
Also... the dappled light on the bark and the moose somehow aren't coming across as highlights to me right now. The ones on the grass and the tiger's fur work just fine, but the others.. I don't know, maybe they're not bright enough? And also the whole moose already kind of looks like he's in shadow, (and being further from the canopy, it's less red and less dark) although I see that he's not.

I love the wonderful backstory! The scenery and animals are beautiful! It warms my heart to see two animals that would usually be in predator-prey relationship, get along and become friends or family!

this piece is so stunning. from the soft fuzziness of the dandelions to the freaking gorgeous lighting under the tree and of the characters to the beautiful background with the mountains and trees.
autumn has just the best colors. <3 if i ever have enough money to commission you id have to say it would be agua in an autumn or spring scene her colors against the fall oranges would just be so lovely :3

Absolutely love this. Yes, the colours are wonderful, but what impressed me is the tones pattern. Such energy, and the drawing so graceful. And the foreground with the seed heads- audacious but beautifully brought off.

Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I always have and always will admire your wonderful attention to detail and how well you balance your colors so well. In every piece you ever make, full background or not, you make the characters seem like they belong there instead of simply pasted in. Gorgeous. You can really almost feel like you're in this picture. The cool and warm air of fall and the smell of drying leaves and grass. Even the dandelions look like they can be plucked and wished on.

Aw, why thank you! I feel like I'm still trying to find something I like when it comes to painting foliage. Some plants are easier to paint and come out better (and in the style I like), while others are a bit of a baffling mystery still. I am working on getting grass and tree leaves to be the way I want, so this piece was such great practice!

So yeeesssssss I feel like I just have to reiterate for the 54393929th time how PRETTY THIS PICTURE IS!!! Ahhhhh I love it so much. Way to take my general flailings of ¡¡¡¡MOUNTAINS BLUE ORANGE FALL TREES COLORS I LIKE COLORS!!!!! And turning it into something SO AWESOME!!!!
I just. Uuuuuugh I don't even know where to START!! Uuuugh I love the vertical canvases beauties. I love having to physically scroll to take the entire thing in. It's like the bottom of the picture is a surprise or something. Idk I love it so much. And then it leaves room for FLUFFY FOREGROUND OBJECTS EEEEE I love those damned fluffies so much ahahaha well okay I love everything omg
THERE ARE MOUNTAINS IN THIS AND I LOVE IT. With such lovely atmospheric perspective omg. And the sky is so blue and pretty and it's PERFECT between the leaves of that twisty lil tree. The best thing about fall is that BRIGHT GATORADE BLUE sky peeking between those absurdly orange leaves. And YOU DID THAT HERE AND I LOVE IT!!! I love how the orange trees in the valley sort of dance away into the mountains like that. And then as they get closer you can see the little leafie clumps. Most perfect little autumn trees. And oh god THAT.TREE. That TREE!!! and it's BLANKET of orange LIGHTING. Oh my LORD I love it! I love its twisty branches and all that bark detail YOU HAVE SUCH PATIENCE FOR SUCH BARKINESS. I also love how your signature is sort of like a branch carving or something lolol. Omg the bark. It's all round and bulbous and asymmetrical and ugh I just LOVE it. And the leaves. ALL. THE LEAVES. Omg how you gave love to every single orange red perfect autumnal leaf. And I love LOVE love the dappled lighting that comes through on the tree trunk and the grass. It's so masterfully done and I love it aaahahahaaaa. And the grass YOU PAINTED EVERY BLADE. And didn't make it looks stupid. I'm so amazed and jealous oh god. And I LOVE THOSE DAMN FUZZIES. SO much. They're like little autumn dandelion puffs of joy. And they're so FUZZY. I remember when you only had one done and seeing how DETAILED it was as opposed to the other puffies. And I swear I held my breath for like 2 days while the other poofies followed suit. And then they DID and now they look AMAZING!!! And the poofies under that blanket of orange are orange too and ahhhh. This background. Also poofy foreground object puffs. Yes to the yes forever this BACKGROUND is AMAZING!!!
AND I LOVE SWITCHIE AND CKAZZ OH MY GOD. I love Ckazz's perfect square muscular moosey anatomy IS THAT A MOOSE???? Ahhhh the way his legs are so firmly planted underneath him with his knobby knees and those weird.... hoof things behind his hooves man I have no idea what they're called. But oh my god look at his square little butt and his perfect fluffy little tail and that majestic dewlap and his most perfect FACE. Omg not only did you draw a most delightful moosey face, but you did it from SUCH a weird behind angle but omg it's AMAZING!! Oh my god that nose. I want to stick my hand in his giant nostrils even though that would be so gross lololol but MOOSEY FACE SOB I love it. And his one antler came out SO so so well. And they're so tricky to draw and shade and everything (at least they are for me ahaha) and uuugh the way his little blue eye just pops in that sea of orange and brown. I love it. And I love the curvy white fur shinies dancing along his side. It really accentuates his delightful moosey curves. LOVE those sharp highlights oh god. And his fur detail is so delightful as well. It's the perfect combination of thick and shaggy but still smooth and short. It's those sneaky highlights. Implying texture. Or something. I love them. Oh god you draw such a perfect moose ahhh I love it!
AND SWITCHIE LOL. Her expression was the most delightful idea. Now she's just like "I'm so taller than you are alalala". Even though her claws are out on that one back leg. She's probably acting cool, but is actually holding on for dear life and probably falls off the tree a few seconds later and rolls down the hill in the fuzzies. Calling it. BUT ANYWAY I love those pretty claws and that one dangling paw (I love pawpads SO SO MUCH). And omg her leg fuzzies are PERFECT. They're really thick and long and sweepy, like it's seriously just how I picture them. Ahhhhh haha she's so fluffy EVERYWHERE. YES that is how fluffy she is. Absurdly fluffy. I'm beyond thrilled that you understand this lolol. And HER FACE IS RIGHT FINALLY I'm sorry I was so fussy about it..... well okay no I'm not actually sorry but IT LOOKS PERFECT!!! I love her nosey stripes and her eye spots a whole lot for some reason. And the way you squished her eye spots to further emulate her slappable expression. It's perfect. And WHISKERS you got those too! I LOVE how tigers have CRAZY long and thick whiskers, and it always bums me out when people don't include them. I mean, I know it's just a style thing but they look so GOOD on tigers! All that crazy cheek fuzz with zillions of mega-long whiskers. Who couldn't even get into that. But yes tangent YES I love her cheek fuzz. And her ear notch is delightful and notch-y as well. And all her earrings shine with brightness and enthusiasm and she has such perfect knobby knees and this large rounded body full of nothing but muscles and fluff and snark and uuuugh I love it. And the way the blanket of orange just dances with her blues in the most dappley and wonderful way. Ugh the dappling is *DIVINE*. I love her gigantic tail poof as well. And how fuzzy it is. She's so fuzzy and I love it and uuuugh I love it I love it ahhhhhh Switchie yes.
But. Yes. So SO so happy with this! I'm bummed that my damned job had to get in the way of watching you make a lot of it, but I'm so grateful that I got to watch what I could (and that I didn't get fired when I was probably a little liberal about sneaking into corners with my phone and checking lolol). Ahhhhh I've been so jealous of all these pretty pictures you paint for people and now I have something for ME!!! And I LOVE IT!! It's all the blues and oranges and falls and mountains and colors and everything that I just love that you do and omg I just LOVE it! Ahhhhh thank you SO so much for this! Ahhh I just LOVE it!!!!
