Description

PLEASE READ

Well I was tempted on creating her for quite some time after creating Kitsune Yami , Dragon Seto Kaiba and Tanuki Jounouchi Katsuya

This time I have Kisara, the lost lover of Seto Kaiba who was a really powerful nine-tailed (kyuubi) fox.

Once again I used this image for the basic shapes 64.media.tumblr.com/048ad5e390… and then I tried to add some different details here and there.

I wanted this dress to look something between ancient chinese dress and Japanese kimono because technically Kitsune are holding similar roles in Chinese and Japanese folklore and in this case since I wanted to connect Kisara to the god Inari among others, I didn't want a fully chinese or japanese look.

I was planning on giving her many different jewels based on Chinese and Heian period Japanese ones as well as some sort of complcated hairdo but I decided not to. First off because I was afraid I would be ruining the picture by multiple attempts, but also because Kisara is known for her simple appearance in the anime so I simply gave her extra long hair (down to the floor) and gave her the usual hairdo, aka nothing at all. Plus since she is supposed to be a heavenly fox of harvest and holy flames, she should look as natural as possible

The name "Kisara" in this version is written like 気晒 with the kanji "ki" 気 standing for "spirit" and "sara" 晒 stands for "bleached" or "refined" so her name in this version starts for "Bleached Spirit" or "Refined" or "Purified Spirit". Another detail is that the character "sara" stands for bleached cotton (thus connecting her to harvest of the god Inari) and it was also a punishment in Edo period (so somehow connecting her to "punishment" or "justice")

Kisara is a Kyuubi Kitsune, or Nine-Tailed Fox, a being that is over 1000 years old and has reached the level of divinity. Kisara is not just very old (at the time of her death she exceeded 3000 years of age) but she is also one of the benevolent fox spirits that serve one of the main gods of Shinto pantheon, the god (kami) of agriculture, fertility, sake, rice, tea, industry and at some point of blacksmiths and warriors, Inari (or Ookami, "Great God", also called Oo-Inari).

Kisara served under his protection ever since she was a tiny fox and she continued ever since. When she reached her 1000th year of age and became nine-tailed fox, she was elevated to the level of goddess and was given her own shrine, hidden in the rocky mountains between Japan and China, to look over both sides of the spectrum. Kisara mostly resided to the shrine which was close to the heavens. Unlike other kitsune, Kisara recognizes the fragility of their nature and how prone they could get to turn bad so she was always teaching younger kistune under her protection to always live with good and never lose themselves to the temptations of trickery or bad behavior.

Like Yami Kisara has two primary forms; her Human form (Goddess form) and her True form. Her True Form is one of a pure white gigantic Kitsune with nine tails and holy flames to her feet and around her tails. Like most Kitsune, her source of her power is in her heart but is linked through her mouth. In her goddess form she prefers to walk around with all her tails showing as well as her fox ears. Theoretically the level of magic she posesses makes her have flawless transformation if she wants to shape-shift.

Her powers are godly of level and therefore she theoretically has no weakness apart from creatures of equal level to her. The consecrated items are her friends and not her enemies (unless some item has been purified with a spell specifically for her like it happens with her Dragon lover Kaiba Seto ). However like many divinities she can get killed although that would require either something really powerful and/or many attempts. Kisara's nine tails also represent nine lives so in theory she can sacrifice one of her tails so she wouldn't be killed. She can both absorb and give power. She gave her lover the power of "Water Flame" in addition to his own powers by kissing him and pass him strength from her soul-orb.

Appearance: Kisara is a really delicate white haired maiden (her hair reaches down the floor) with light blue eyes. Her clothing is mainly consisted by heavy kimonos and chinese types of clothing and underwear, symbolizing the connection between the two ancient cultures she represents.

Her nine tails are constantly swirling harmonically behind her giving her the airy feeling that she is constantly floating.

She has calm and collected demanor and moves for most of the time. She can fight with the sword and when she does, she looks like dancing. Usually she doesn't fight with it though.

Story:

Kisara was born at some point at the mountains of ancient China at an area that was connected with Japan before the passage was flooded. Her life as tiny fox began with her serving close to the gods and she remained at the service of gods till the end of her life. When she became 1000 years old her powers were elevated till she became godly of power and nature. For the good things she did for the people she was given a shrine which was built hidden from everything up in the mountains so that she could remain in the boundry between heaven and earth and between Japan and China and supervise the area and bless people who would come and make offerings to her name.

Ever since she was the goddess of her shrine for a long time till she met the Dragon Kaiba Seto. Even though they belonged to different attribute of creatures, the two of them eventually fell in love and Kisara divoted herself to Seto completely. She even transfered him part of her flaming powers so tha the two of them would be more compatible. However one day Kisara was killed by a really powerful entity, Seto arrived at the scene too late to do anything but early enough to see the killer. Ever since he wandered about to find the killer and get his revenge. Kisara's spirit entered the Afterlife and her shrine was soon abandoned and forgotten but her blessings in the area remained.

Sorry if this sounds too brief of a story but I cannot say more without making massive spoilers of the story that I have in mind behind her   Sooooo...yeah!

The "united part" of Japan and China is my invention for now. I have no evidence that such thing was a fact in prehistoric times for instance in Ice Age and such wne the sea level was lower but I just kept it there for mythological reasons behind the lore.
