I've been keeping the sketch for this for a long time before finally deciding to colour it
2015-2017 was a (not so amusing) rollercoaster for me lol aaaaand I tend to keep my problems to myself. the blood's supposed to look like flowers / lava lamp-y stuff lol
Should I put the mature tag on because there is a visible flesh opening?

The fact how intense is red is soo muchย ๐๐๐๐ really, it gives of the literal feeling of pain and agony!
Also it's very relatable - shows how we feel from time to time.

Oh wow! This looks so awesome! The composition is really great (I really have a thing for vertical compositions ahah) also, purple and red tones really work well together and the blood flowing upwards makes the picture really interesting 
Anyways I hope next year will be better for you <3 I find it definitely helps to put your feelings in a pictures thought! To me, it's like storing them away so I can move on ahah

Nah really this is very awesome. ย I totally get where you were going with the effect of the red splotches and blood, even without reading the description. ย The beauty here is that everything has a particularly direction going on that all leads to the central figure. ย The red blood bubbles while floating up, are coming from from a source and the eye naturally wants to find the source. ย It helps that the top red blotches are have streaks to almost literally point 'down'. ย And the source of those blotches is really a fantastic pay off.
You have the red lava lamp blood bubbles help light up the central figure in a silhouette and I love how your shading! ย The lighting is beautiful here and the color choices are superb! ย The mixture of purples and blues for the deep shadows contrasts so lovely with the reds and peach of the highlights. ย The expression is heartbreaking and that single tear just sells it, I wish there was just a little more lighting on the face to see the details in the image even when it's small but that's my only critique. The knife is beautiful shaded and while for me it's not 'Mature' filter dark, I can understand the reticence. ย This is just beautiful and I really hope that things this year are a little easier. ย I had a pretty dark hell of time in 2016 so I feel for this image strongly.
