meh... just wanted to put something else up so I could change my featured Dev. - these are two drawings I did tonight... the top is an anatomical study, trying to work out how the bones and muscles of a gryphon might work if it were real, and the second, a still of how I'd like my gryphon animation to look (in an ideal world) .. in actuality I'm going to have to reduce the pencil mileage somewhat... >.>enjoy ^_^

Cool wing. Gryffins (or any type of part one animal part another) are so funky. I'm trying to decide on a four legged character for 3d, but it can't have wings O.o I must design something

I always figured if a Gryphon were a real critter, it'd have to have some sort of a wing cape and a flap of skin that extended a little ways back. (Otherwise it has no rudder.) I think that's kind of.. made it's way into all of my flying things somehow.

I think I know how you mean.. like when most gryphon artists give them two tails? - a lion type tail and a bird type tail? ... I guess I wanted to stick to a more traditional design.. the anatomy is more for me to understand how to animate the character, than to acutally make it scientiffically plausable... \:] ... I'm not sure that an animal like this could EVER be scientiffically plausable! lol

This is really wicked. I love the anatomical aspect of it. I've never seen the anatomy of a gryphon drawn out before. I just wish I could read your notes on it.
