The long awaited update to my growing group shot of video game animal heroes. Version 5 is a-go! It took a bit to figure out where I wanted everyone to go, but I think I fit them all together rather well. It's getting rather rough fitting all these colorful jokers together.
The new recruits are Diddy Kong from the Donkey Kong Country series, Croc the Crocodile from Croc: Legend of the Gobbos, Gex the Gecko from the Gex game series, and Punky Skunk from the game of the same name.
That makes a grand total of 19 characters so far. And it just keeps getting bigger and better. I have some more characters in store and on the way. I just need to get around to drawing them. So yes, a Version 6 is coming. So keep a watchful eye on things.

Truth be told, I'm only vaguely familiar with the character. I just looked him up on Google. He's kinda cute, I suppose. Maybe I'll draw him someday.

I had considered Mr. Nutz and Awesome Possum... but I already have Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel and Sparkster. Better versions of both of them! XD

I actually had every intention to add Parappa to the mix. I even drew him. However, I lost the drawing and just never got around to redoing it.
Perhaps at some point I MAY just redraw this entire thing! And this time, I won't lose Parappa.

Would you ever add Buck Bumble, Earthworm Jim, Awesome Possum, Octodad, Jersey Devil, Rocky Rodent, Radical Rex, Pappa the Rappa, Rocky from Pocky and Rocky, Redmond and Spanx from Whiplash, Davy from Chameleon Twist, Scaler, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, Cocoto, Firo & Klawd, Frogger, Banjo and Kazooie, Kao the Kangaroo and I know he was an online gaming mascot, but is it ok if you can add in castle cat as well?
Also if you're into obscure characters, a good one is Penta from the Japanese game of Yume Penguin Monogatari or Motley and Shep from the British game Sheep. So obscure that there's hardly any fan drawings on them on DA or the net for that matter.

Once I finally get back to working on this, I intend for Banjo & Kazooie, PaRappa the Rapper, and Ty The Tasmanian Tiger, at the very least. Frogger is a classic character that completely escaped my mind. I have no idea how that happened.
As for the others... we shall see. If I haven't, at least, played the game once, I might steer clear of them. But, maybe I could start playing new games. Either way, when I finally get around to it, a V6 WILL happen!

Yeah all old games, but you should try watching them on youtube to see if they are worth playing.
I also forgot another one that was called "James Pond" and it's a goldfish who is a parody of James Bond. I remember that being fun

Yeah it's too bad. And the ones I know from this list is Diddy, Klonoa (my personal favorite) Fox, Sonic, Crash, Bubsy and Sly Cooper. While learned about Aero the Acrobat and Zero today. And I have seen Sparkster before but it's only been a few times.

I love Ristar too. However, my one reason for not including him in this group shot is that he's not really an animal. Sure, originally he was some kind of rabbit-type creature but in his final state, he's an interstellar something-or-other. Maybe I'll just do a piece of Ristar fan art at some point.
