Jala
"Darn it, if I knew this might happen I wouldn't have set hoof out--" Jala's hasty words were interrupted by another hoarse cough. Now the haze of the smoke was starting to blur his senses; some things were fuzzy, and his sense of smell was clouded by the overwhelming smoke. All Jala wanted to do was stop, in an attempt to queasiness and dizziness starting to form inside him, but he couldn't. If he stopped now he'd risk being hit by another horse. If he stopped now, he'd risk putting himself, and everyone else at his side, in danger from the Flock.

"Thalassa, is that--" Jala tried to sigh with relief, but instead, more wheezing came. The mare's form had emerged from the blinding smoke, but he could barely make it out. "I can hardly see--I can hardly see!" Okay, now he was starting to panic. All Jala could do was rely on blurry shapes and his hearing, which right now was overwhelmed by terrified screams and explosions. Hot tears leaking from his eyes from the pain, he squeezed them shut and kept his head low. On his back, he felt Ta'Keet flatten himself out against his withers.

His telekinetic embrace searched wildly for Thalassa's tail, his concentration having been disrupted by the chaos all around them. For now, all the stallion could do was put his faith in Thalassa and hope she could find their way out amidst this crowd. "Thank you, miss Thalassa..." Was all he managed, giving a silent prayer to Cascade in the process.

Tegan
Eyes squinting through the smoke, Tegan's little body shook in nervous anticipation as he began to see a figure shift toward them, yet relief quickly wafted over him as he began to make out the familiar mare, an appaloosa, Thalassa! The pegasus colt knew very little of the cleric, if anything, yet she already seemed to give off a much needed sense of security.

Lungs heaving in a desperate need for clean air, Tegan followed the mare's request, in a thankful embrace he clenched onto a strand of her multicolored tail. Perhaps they would finally be led to safety.

Tegan's green eyed gaze was caught by his dear friend Jala as he noticed tears building in his eyes. Jala had been through as much as he had today, and what was Tegan doing? Cowering. While the quagga cross pulled the rest of them together. Tegan's ears flinched backwards in disappointment of himself. Coming back to the familiar side of his friend, Tegan bumped him softly on his shoulder with his own and gave him a reassuring smile.

"It'll be alright." Was all he could cough out in the circumstances, yet the colt hoped he got his message across.

I'm not happy with how this came out at alllll, but at least it's finished and hopefully Alec's will come out a bit better. The point of this was to create somewhat happy chapter art but it turns out that that basically ruined it since.. Well.. the chapter was anything but happy! BUT I've been having an excellent time RPing with Tegan and all these other wonderful charaters <3 I would have included everyone if only my wrist wouldn't protest so damn much.

Trying to finish chapter art and commissions before the 1st since I will be away the 1st-5th.. Soo.. Beware.
