Description More pencil art. This is a page from my graphic novel, "The Wings of Cranes and Eagles." The story is set in America and Japan, just before and during WWII. The plane is a Curtiss JN-4D "Jenny," and is flown by the Japanese protagonist, Tomiji Yoshida, with his friend and flight instructor, Randall Parker, along for the ride. Here, "Tommy" makes a perfect crosswind landing in the old plane.

I can almost hear the flying wires let out that gentle sigh as the wings relax from their burden aloft. Takes me back to summer airshows, ground crewing and watching the JN-4H take to the air. Great piece!
