I can't really imagine Kain needing a coat... but still this is an amazing image, well done. Can I ask what media you use for your drawing?... I'm trying to get started on colouring.

I like him dressing up to fit the conditions of his environment just like in Blood Omen2, I can imagine him dressing warm when it's cold winter around him
This was panted with acrylics, a bit looks like pastel colouring, but that's the fault of the paint's quality

The image I have of the vampire is so tough, that I don't even count need to be protected against low temperatures. That is why I have a very hard time imagining Kain needing to dress warmer

Hehe I'm the opposite then, I like to see Kain various clothes accomodating to his environment, I don't find him weak for dressing up
Yes, I remember Green Kain had a standard pants throughout the SR/Defiance games, but it's rather Kain from the Blood Omens who impressed me.

The change was indeed pleasant, I give you that. It was a nice touch to the game... and didn't have to ask "Doesn't this character EVER change clothes? Ewww... xD"...
From blood omen, I like the 2nd costume Kain wears, it was pretty light regarding fabric, but it had gold skull shoulder plates... you wear on the 4th chapter I think, a little while before facing Sebastian. I also liked the hooded clothing he wore in the Canyons.
The other two armors, plus the iron armor you get with the code don't really excite me.

Yes, it was fine, in BO1 gamers could change the armour according to the enemy types of certain areas, in BO2 Kain's powers are not influenced by his actual armour, but his clothes very much fitting to his environment like his elegant but still warrior's suit for the aristocratic parts of the City and his wildenlander style leather outfit for the canyons. I liked these too and also his spiked armour.
That's true he didn't looked much good in the iron armour, Kain had much different and more realistic proportions than in BO1, the iron armour wasn't good for his bodyshape. And it's still troublesome on artworks not to make him look like a storm trooper or just plain funny with the iron armour on him.

Yes, but they represent Kain's hope here, I also liked in the games how the purity of ancient Nosgoth was connected with winter.

I like snowing anyways, it was pleasant too to see a snowfall in Nosgoth with it's catching lights and mood and the music too, somehow the ancient and pure Nosgoth had a very mystical feeling.
Same here, I liked Kain's various clothes and armour in the Blood Omens according to the environment and weather conditions, but he had only a simple standard pants throughout the SR-games, even in winter.

I like so much the scene in the snowfall, so much doubts and hopes in it for a better future. I'm glad you like my painting, I tried to be faithful to the game's scene while making up something original with this picture (I never liked Kain's appearance in Soul Reaver 1-2 and Defiance anyways

I wanted to give back the chilling moment of the end of Defince, when he finally got what he fought for, a slight hope, but still have many battles to fight ahead.
Winter is awesome when everything is so white around. I liked to see Nosgoth in winter too, it looked so untouched and uncorrupted, matches so much to this scene with Kain

Thank you! I think Nosgoth looks the most beautiful in winter, it looks so clean and uncorrupted, and found it so suitable to Kain's hopes and doubts as he's standing there alone.
I wrapped Kain into warm clothes too to make the feeling of chilling cold more realistic

Yeah considering vampires get hurt by fire in the games then surely they must be affected by hot and cold. It's fun to see Kain wearing something different than his regular outfit.

And being affected by weather makes vampires look more real too. Perhaps the picture wouldn't have a real cold feeling too if Kain was standing here half-naked

I love snow too, it can make the world look so mystical...plus I can bug painting a landscape by covering it with snow and haze
