the highest friendship is in the eyes,where two, looking into the gaze of one another
percieve only one, eternal.
my submission for =teepoo 's midorichi and scruffy contest yay! it took about 2 hours to draw (bic .7 on printer paper) and 2 to color (photoshop cs). it was supremely enjoyable to create and i dont care if it wins or not because i had so much fun making it, and i want to give it to teepoo more as a present than a contestant.

thank you. looking back, its interesting to see how my state of mind and heart is reflected in my art. i did this last spring, and i remember it was a time in my life where i was feeling all-pervadingly happy and alive. i remember that with this piece i really wanted to make everything buzz with light, to capture the experience of someone seeing themselves. im very glad that you like it.

Oh, my sweet, jeebus. this is perhaps the most adorable thing I've seen in quite some time. o_O
What a gentle and serene enviroment you've come up with! And the sweet tiny eyes with the blushing little cheeks! Yet truly, the first feature my eye was drawn to was, yes, the soft turtle shell, creating a truly fantastical atmosphere surrouding these two little creatures.

That's a really nice scene. It's interesting that you specified a soft attribute to the otherwise hard turtle shell, that alone helped convey the embracing quality of the picture for me. The closeness of the two characters eyes was funny and gave me that warm feeling you get when you think you step on a tac but it's actually a soft velvet shirt... well, maybe not exactly that. I love the serenity of the waterfall, how there's not much splash or droplets, it's holistic.. sort of reminds me of hiroshige. I'd like to know though, what are the two mounds in the background?
