IT'S FINISHED!!!! !!!!! It's over at last... never again... (untill next time... which will probably be pretty soon because this was actually quite fun......)

Here be 's OC Censere - who has to be one of my favorite dragon charas now - she's just so dark, fiery and generally 'badass'. I can picture her so well walking away from and explosion in slow-motion wearing sunglasses .

The scales were a very long (week-and-a-half-long ) experiment, and though I really like the end result, (and will definitely be using this technique again,) they covered up some of the original shading which I happened to really like . Still, t'was a worthy sacrifice and can still be seen in a screen-shot of the WIP picture -> [link] anyway
This background is the four attempt ... It's still messy and scrappy, but is at least better that the others and I'm too lazy to do anything more .

Just when I, even in the slightest, begin to doubt your works could get any better, you never cease to abate that assumption with flying colours (I really need to stop using that pun. >_> ). This is absolutely fantastic! I just love the fiery atmosphere of the image, and the cascading streaks of lava plunging down the colossal surface of volcanic rock in the far distance. It all gives the entire image depth, and perhaps a feeling of longing and nostalgia, and the moon only compliments the background with a luminous glow that elicits about itself a unique feel of beauty and underlying tranquility. And your efforts of the character itself were without a doubt every iota worth the effort - the detail is so eye-catching and intricate, especially in the hair and the fashion in which you've designed the scales permeating her body, and the gloss-over effect only makes it better! ^_^ The shading on the wings and the highlight effects applied here and there also give you the feel of the character herself being in the composition of the image, as if captured in the scenery at that instant, and I just adore the fieriness of her crimson eye - it matches flawlessly with the just as splendidly detailed fire flickering on her tail.

Overall, a stunning piece, and it was just the push of inspiration I needed to get to work on a picture months overdue. Keep up the amazing work!

Another detailed pic from you. What i can say? The experiment with scales sure payed off, the texture on the scale which makes them look rough is a great addition to the picture visuals. Although with all those detailed scales the belly really stands out, cause it's kinda plain without much texture to it. Oh and am i seeing things ot the tail is transparent near the area with lava?
Now to BG: first of all it suits the character perfectly giving picture kinda a chaotic feel. While it's not as detailed as the dragoness, it still looks pretty good, that way the viewer is more concentrated on the character. Although i dont really understand the vertical stripes, is it raining lava out there?

Well anyway, this is a great display of this character with lots of details which catch the eye even when being displayed in a small thumbnail in someone's inbox. The character and the background blend together nicely forming this astonishing artwork which is a feast to the eyes.

In answer to your questions - yeah there's a mixup with the layers and layer masks that laziness has prevented me from spotting and fixing and the lava "stripes" were supposedly streams and waterfalls of lava falling from the mountains in the background...

Such detailed picture doesnt draw itself...and that's why i try to write a lot about it, describing every aspect i can. A great artist deserves a comment like that. I sometimes get really angry when i spend about 2 weeks on a picture (yeah i'm that slow) and then people just say: "COOL!" and leave. It's like all my hard work was flushed...so i'm trying not to make other artist that are better than me to feel the same way. I would like to be able to draw such detailed pieces of art that you submit but i really have no idea how to do so without spending a month on a single picture...unfortunately i'm one of those types of people that need a detailed explanation on what tools to use, and how to use them...It would be awesome if i could see how you draw in livestream or through screensharing in Skype...some people told me that i'm very sharp-eyed so maybe this way i might notice small flaws and tell you before they make it to the final vesion of your artwork.
