extra headcanon: the reason why ino no longer wears her konoha hitai-ate post-time skip is because by that time, she’s already a reconnaissance and espionage agent (or in training to be one). for her missions, she cannot wear any identifying mark in case her cover is blown. she eventually forfeits the hitai-ate altogether, even for her normal missions.
