Another rotund tower, only this one is in the middle of a lake. I wonder what used to stand here before the water washed it all away?

Was this an old factory at one time? the masonry appears to be more refined thus making it more modern than say an old castle or fort tower.

It's not a European castle, it is fairly modern. But now it is obsolete, but dose not need to be.

concrete blocks, standing in straight lines, not interlocked like brick work, I would guess late 40's to 50's, relatively recent and probably abandoned in the 70's?

Very good, but no guess as to tis function?
I would say it was abandoned in the 60s
Mid America is it's location.

Hmm, its function. Mid America so that may imply it used to be a slaughtering house back in the day. The stack part of the evacuation of burning flesh to dissipate into the air. A lot of slaughter houses have since closed due to regulations and green groups which started taking root in that time along with the Civil Right's movement. That and the rising cost of labor that by the 70's was choking American Exports into non existence.

No, it has nothing to do with meat packing, that would be vulgar. No, this was noble even when it was in operation.
They were used in farming across America. At one time, every farm had some version of this tower.

Under water and not needed any more. probably bought out by a conglomerate who had their own facilities

In this instance, half right.
The deverted river plaid a major part.
But actually, these towers are now redundant, because of increased need for food, better transport, and increased demand for diverse product.
For you see, industery isn't always evil.
But as the word changes, it does leave stark reminders of the past behind.

I have never considered progress an evil but it does leave for a historical recollection that must be preserved as is lest we forget. For good or evil, all relics and their original purpose must be kept for posterity for the day we repurpose or tear them down, we forget the lessons that we should hold dear to our hearts

What lessons do you learn from this?
One day soon, the waters will claim the tower, and all that will remain will be the memory and image if it.
Tell me what you embrace to your heart? What truth have you seen in my work, and my attempt to preserve this future now past?

It is a natural state of affairs. To save it would require a stone or concrete barrier around the tower but barring any historical meaning outside of what it used to be which was a part of agricultural and industrial progress, let it be until nature has decided to reclaim what is hers.

I do not throw the word around ever since one took it, said and then broke my heart. I know it is not your fault and you should not bare the punishment of another but it is a lesson I had to learn to save myself.

Love is a dangerous word, that should not be used lightly. But for men, we can choose. It is the one difference that separates a boy from a man, is to be able to make a commitment.
