here is nastasia.i actually didn't have many characters that i kept in mind while designing her- i knew right away when i was first drawing these characters that i wanted her to be a short, round little woman with a square face.
personality wise, the way she was going to handle the changes blue went through changed drastically over the course of arc 3, but i think what i'm doing now works much better for her. she has been a real darling to write for. i really enjoyed giving her a full background and thinking about how her experiences and upbringing chiseled her into the person she is today. she really struggles to grow out of that mold.

Ah yes, definitely one of the more mysterious characters in the game, and one of the most interesting elements to your story! Her backstory that you've worked on must have taken a lot of work to put together, as I imagine may have also been the case with her design.
The blue and purple hues are really nice here, though I admit I may be biased toward that color pallet, haha

aww, thank you... i'm really happy that people like nastasia in this story. i know she didn't get much time to develop in the video game.
designing her appearance wasn't too hard, although her proportions changed a bit as i drew her more, especially around her face. her backstory came pretty naturally from the sorts of things i noticed in the game. i thought "well those are a lot of powers associated with vampires" and "if she's so good at her job the count is probably not her first boss" and "god she's so desperate to hold on to this guy, that looks a lot like codependency, how did that develop" and then sketched out a backstory around it. her friend orazio was a kind of spur of the moment thing, but it ended up being good to give her a "big brother" to play off of if she wanted to talk about her past. o'chunks' siblings ended up playing a similar role.
it was important to me to give nastasia a full life before she met blue because it turns her character into her own entity instead of basically an extension of the count. this means she gets to have her own motivations and goals, and her own obstacles and struggles, about things that do not directly involve blue. i feel like that was something she lacked in the game and it was kind of sad. this all changes how she handles the end of the game in some important ways. but that's way off in the distant future right now.

I like the mix of blue and red tones you gave her, it’s a nice touch.
And the watch is too fitting, gotta keep everything as planned on the schedule! (it is a watch, right? pls tell me I’m not wrong on this one, that’d be embarrassing)
Well I think sooner or later nastasia will have no other choice but break out of her “mold”. Different circumstances demand different ways of behaviour.

yeah, it's a watch. for a long time in arc 4 it was out of batteries and blue wasn't able to recharge it for her.
it's a slow and mostly imperceptible process... even to her.
