You've managed to do quite a bit with his design! I imagine Blumiere has his own challenges in terms of drawing: the way his cloak flows and interacts with his environment for example. I like the skeletal arms, there's a lot of detail you've added to help bring this guy to life!

his cloak is basically just a big heavy blanket so it settles pretty naturally on his body and gives him a clear, simple silhouette. right now, i'm a little concerned about how the cape collar will frame his head and ears in the future, but i know i'll figure out a more natural way to do it when i get there and practice a bit more.
i think the most challenging thing about drawing blue is getting his head and neck to work at different angles. his horns are curved just a little bit so i need to keep that in mind when he turns his head... how big his eyes are, and how they sit in his head compared to where his ears are... i've drawn him so many times that i've got a feel for it now, but when i feel tired or unmotivated it becomes very awkward again.
i'm glad you like the details. i know that your arm bones don't actually sit that far apart in your forearm but i wasn't sure how else to make it easily visible X] these details make it very hard for me to draw a design closer to the game sprite when i try to do pictures or comics for other people in the fandom. he just doesn't look right to me without the ears anymore.
one person i showed him to said that at first he looks kinda scary with all those sharp edges, and the fangs and claws. but when you look at him for a minute you notice he's got the big round eyes and a very not-aggressive expression and that makes him seem more gentle. i think that's a good description of how i wanted him to come across. he's a monster on the outside, but if you get used to that, his personality is more friendly and caring.

Yeah, sometimes you still have to tweak things a million times even though you’ve already drawn them so often, I know what you mean (the count’s overall body shape still gives me so much trouble, honestly).
You did a really good job on the gradiant of his cape, especially from the dark blue to the pink. Very nice.
It’s been a long time since we’ve last seen the search function in action tho, at least it feels like that….
Also, did you use two different kind of yellows for his pupils or are my eyes playing tricks on me? (hah, pun not even intended X])

Personally I find big brushes with low opacity come in handy when making a gradient, but you might have different preferences on that.
Is it duller because of worse eye-sight or is it something different? (if I may ask)

i'll keep experimenting. this art program doesn't have a "select" tool so i am learning to plan ahead with my layer work, but it's still a hassle haha. i'm looking for something better to draw with, and then i'll have to get used to that.
he is losing his vision in that eye, yeah.

I’m sure you’ll find something that fits your taste eventually. There are a lot of art programs out there after all.
Oh no. is it because of age that he’s loosing his vision or something else?

yeah there's so many and some of them cost money if i want to try them X[
hard to say! it's not like he's seen an optometrist or anything. he would have had to see someone who knows how his tribe's eyes work, anyway, and they are all gone now.

Oh man, sucks. Just keep digging there’s got to be one that fits.
Yeah, I guess that’s kinda hard when they are either presumably dead or just dissapeard…

one day i'll get the horns right without having to erase everything and start over...
thanks! the gradient is fun to make, but i'm still finding more efficient ways to do it. i've tried small brushes, big brushes, changing the flow and blend settings...
he got it working a couple scenes ago, but before that it was mostly absent, yeah.
one of his eyes is duller than the other in this picture, yes. it's not a large difference (i did include both shades in the palette on the top right). it's also like that in the tumblr avatar, and a few other colored pictures with him.
