Athena does end up with a rather sad fate in the end. She does not die, nor does she live. But even as she fades away, she does promise that one day, she will return, this time, with a promise that she will not forget her friends...
It honestly had to do with her mother ;w; Poor Athena was bound to a destiny that she could not break away from, no matter how hard she tried. It was not her choice.
Honestly, I'm still concepting, so it may not appear in the final story, but I've warned you just in case
And yes, It's vague, because it's hard to explain without sounding rather suish
