Description After disappearing into cocktail drinks and booze for Christmas, Fred is back- and hopeful to renew the weekly update schedule.

I was a bit nervous about this page as I laid down the flat colors, but in the end the lighting effects, particularly the rim lighting, threw in some much needed intensity. Also, I wanted to make Paoboy Fatty (the gorilla) look different than his nephew and found that a bit of pudge and a few wrinkles went a long way toward achieving that effect.

A lot of folks like how it's a good distinguishing mark for his character... I should probably show him with a lolly a bit more often.

Fred, a lollipop, weird. But I don't care much.

Hmm. I still think that the two gorillas were a little too similar for me to be sure they were different people. Might have been better to show all of them at the same time, but let's begin.

Panel 1 Nice establishing shot. The lights and everything look good as does the band. Good coloring too. I still might have liked to see the nephew in this shot just to make certian not to confuse the two. Part of that may be that it has been a while since the last page.

Panel 2 Nice pc showing a little of his expression and opinion of Savage. He's not sure what to make of him exactly. That's understandable as Fred seems to be a bit of a kook.

panel 3 a good donwshot showing how the document was handed over to fred real quick so we get to Fred's reaction in...

panel 4 Fred just does not do discreet does he?

panel 5 I like how you chose to show off Fred's over the top drink in this panel and the gorilla's expression work with it to make for effective storytelling

Panel 6 Nope, not discreet at all. This sets up a lot of info in the final panel though

panel7 The close shot is nice. There is a lot of necessary dialogue here and it works well. Maybe we get a better idea of what kind of stuff Fred's potential employer is as well?

I like this page though some of the storytelling jumps ahead a bit. The transition to meeting this man could have been smoother as well as when did Fred get that jacket he is wearing. It is almost like we needed a narration box saying "later, at Paoboy's club". Sometimes that little can help the reader so much.

Heh heh. I love that kooky drink Fred's got. And you've really captured the flamboyant style of '80s pop culture in that band there (singing one of my favorite '80s tunes, no less). Plus I gotta say that everything came together incredibly in that bottom panel. The stylish pose, the sly facial expression, the smoke effect, the highlights along the edges... they make Paoboy almost jump right off the virtual page. Help! There's a gorilla jumping out of my monitor screen at me!

And things are starting to get interesting... Well, more so than before. Not that they weren't before... You know what I mean.

Fred's attitude is quite endearing. Very mercenary, without the usual baggage other writers like to hang on those types.
