I don't mean this to be disparaging, but this entirely aside with Ghoul and the board members strikes me as a rather bizarre diversion from the comic. Hitherto, it's been an interesting superhero team comic with a mix of various hero and villain personalities. Ramas has been cast as being somewhat odd but the other board members are unusual only in their apparent competence. Suddenly, for a few strips, something about prophecies, stars, and ancient magic is just sort of chucked in there with no apparent connection to anything else... and then we go back to our regularly scheduled programming. It's not like I don't like this aside--it's pretty cool and offers some intriguing depth--but it comes off as a fragment of a comic that's not part of Zodiac that was inexplicably grafted in. I don't mean anything bad by any of this but it's just... strange to me.

Well, I have been hinting toward aspects of this since the very first introduction of the board members. Perhaps even before that. It is perhaps a bit strange I admit but I'd like to think I have been giving little clues and hints to the fact that something is quite strange about the goals and methods of the board members all along.

Well, that's the thing: there's never been any hint that their goals are at all unusual or that their methods are. Perhaps I'm missing something but their apparent goal is to form a superhero team using the standard zodiac as a sort of theme with the apparent goal of keeping the peace and suppressing the actions of supervillians (which is pretty much the standard-issue goal of superhero teams). Their method, as near as any has been shown, is to do a talent search focusing on unknown and unspecified qualities and to pick those who fit the theme and have the unspecified qualities about them. There's been hints that there's something off about Ramas (the predictions were a big neon sign) but Natalia's been painted as highly charismatic and Lesonne... there really hasn't been much. He's a southern gentleman type, extremely competent, has a sweet tooth but none of those things are at all unusual. You're quite a good storyteller and all of these characters have depth and are highly interesting. I can even see, with the perfect 20/20 hindsight of knowing what you were trying to hint at, what story elements were meant to be hints. Again, I'm not trying to disparage you or the comic in any way; I love it to pieces and literally check your DeviantArt account three or four times a day so I don't miss the newest strip. But this just came out of pure thin air for me.

Neither do I, really, since the point was to explain how I saw this little segment of the comic and not to get after you for something that, as I said, I absolutely love reading. As to getting back to the action... don't feel any need to hurry. It's odd for me but I think practically everyone else sees no problem at all and I think everyone enjoys seeing you treat Ghoul with some "hey-isn't-that-interesting" depth.
If you have another of these asides, though, it WOULD be sort of interesting to know why Ramas felt the need to play with the team's heads; one would think a god might consider that distracting folks expected to engage in superpowered combat might not be the safest idea.

Hmm... a jackal, a crocodile, a tiger, a donkey... and in the pictures in the office also a raptor bird of some sort and a cow or otherwise female bovine... smells like egyptian gods to me

Your Comic is very good, I look forward for more. This is an very Interesting Sidepart of the plot, lets it look that the team are some sort of Chesspieces on a far bigger Playground. And it also shows new light on the prophecies that he made at the beginning when the team met in the Conference Room, that the 3, with Ghoul 4, are some sort of Gods or other sort of powerful supernatural beings *g* Its a very interesting plot so far with a very well drawn Comic.
((Ramas and the others partially remind me of the Sidereal from Exalted, the chosen of Fates who were once the advisors of mightier Exalted but after throwing them down they themselves faded in the shadows and now with their power to read and manipulate fate in the Stars they now direkt the History and fate of the world without anybody knowing.))

i love the way ramas holds himself, you know his over all aura.
to me its like he is a god among mortals. he knows whats going to happen yet knows when to let bad things happen knowing that good things will come of it.
that just how he appears to me, you more than likly have a differant take on him, but still i just love ramas he is by far my fav character.
