Today I dared to go on the sea ice for the first time this winter.I photographed this packed ice in Oulunsalo, Finland.

This is very pretty. The sky has such an amazing colour going, and it works so well with the icy snow-sheets. There isn't a lot of contrast at the top, but the bottom makes up for it with those interesting cracks. I love the way this is composed. I like the crispness, too.

Well, first you have to dress warm...
Just kidding, it takes some patience with setting up the tripod and looking for the angle.
Of course you have to find the location first
