heyy bro i'm the guy you helped with sketchbook selection at michael's the other day. as you said, i'm loving that canson paper quality. i haven't had a chance to give my new pencils a whirl, but i'm quite excited to move on from my traditional mechanicals.
i found your abstracts to be really interesting especially beginning/rebirth. excellent work with the acrylics. i'm hoping to get to at least your level of realism one day!
i dont have anything on deviantart really, i usually just use facebook and instagram to share my work. so add me if you want.Β

thanks again for your advice and guidance. cheers bro.

Glad your enjoying the paper. Its a good start for now, at the price point and quality. You'll soon find other papers that youll like more later on, like the Arches I showed you. But for drawing/sketching its good. My Self portrait was done on the same paper.
Also, youll start getting picky on your pencils too and thos mech pencils you love will be your best friends again when it comes to realism.
Look into Clutch Holders, I think they might be more your thing too.
Thank you for the kind words on my Abstracts. Ive only really started, but, im feeling comfortable with it and at ease about what im doing...
Your welcome

I'd say look here- www.dickblick.com/products/fabβ¦
and then go to sub heading Mechanical Pencils for other brands....
I tend to shop here for things i can buy in the city, figure out what and how much then go buy. If not available in the city then i buy online.
Its always good to research online first before going to the store. Having the prod knowledge helps.

i see a stunning red flowers encircle inΒ goldy like leaves and some dead twigs that surrounds it. or it could have been more of a bloody petals drip in a gory blood bath.
its a surreal painting that might elope with beauty and madness, and it is amazing in its own right.great artwork.Β

Strange feelings are going on in me.Β
This feels very personal.Β
I don't know. It makes me think of internal organs. Haha! Not in a gory kind of way, but in the way that all humans have them and they are essential for us to live. Though, this isn't to be confused with a feeling of being 'generic' or 'run of the mill', but more like.. personal. You know.... Like two people that are able to relate their experiences and lives to one another.
.. It also makes me think of darkness of the mind. Like, the stuff that comes up in feverish dreams. You know? Like, things you maybe don't want to think about but are invariably drawn to.Β
There is also a reaching aspect to it. I think this comes from the pale column-like things on the edges. But, it's like darkness reaching out with light to more darkness.Β
Definitely a raw and vulnerable aspect to it, as well. Which, I believe comes from the organ-thing. Like, being exposed to everything. Wow.Β
Mmmmnnnnnn, I really enjoy this thought/emotion provoking piece.
You're pretty great.

This is the thing with Abstract work, it allows the viewer to see what the mind wants to see and feel.Β
I am pleased that you enjoy this piece and it hit a hoard with you. Maybe Β in some time when you haven't looked at it for a while that it may hit another and you'll see something completely different.
Thank also for your kind words too. Β
