Description So here's my Johnny Depp. Not completely happy but it was a learning curve and I got a chance to try some negative drawing, some new shading techniques I wanted to learn and the main curve was not to be happy with the base sketch. Need to focus on getting that perfect, positioning ect.

Nice work. I especially like the way you did the creases in his upper lids and the furrow in his brow.

Wow, thanks.
I'm not totally happy with it but I'm getting there. I didn't really want to finish it but felt I had to see where I would end up.

You are very welcome.
I don't think most artists are ever totally happy with their works. I think you are doing great though so keep it up.

Awes, thanks.

I think my Main problem is patience. I can get bored on a piece quite quick and then it gets rushed. I've actually started 3 other drawings to combat it lol.....

You're welcome.

Patience...yeah I am still working on that one myself. Hahaha I do the same thing. I'll have at least 2 or 3 drawings going at one time. xD Good luck with your patience.

I know right!? Ah, it's like pulling teeth and hair with me. I know where I wanna be and how I want to do something but I want to be there now! Lmao....

My expectation level for myself is always high and I beat myself up if I'm taking to long to get there.....anyways blah blah lol.

After today I'll have a 4th on the go and I should be good to slow down.

Is that why you have 3 or more going?

Well for me, I will get stuck usually with texture on an area of a drawing and it is just taking too long to achieve it so then I will sketch out something else to work on and then come back to the original drawing and work a little too. Oh and also when I am working on boring areas of a drawing which can sometimes be painful, I'll switch to detailing another drawing so that I don't try to rush through it. Then switch between the 2 or 3 drawings as I feel I need to, but I think it does all come down to impatience with the drawing for me as well.

Thank you for you kind words.
Yes it's all practice practice. A very talented artist told me once that you have to finish even if you know you went wrong. You have to see what the result is and learn from it.
