Description
Another Random Index Card piece.Done on 3x5 Index Card with Ball-Point Pen.
I wanted to see if I could shade a Random Critter, AND a background scene using only ball-point pens. ^_^
... Personally, I like it!
I think it came out pretty well all things considered. I'm not quite certain I got the lighting effect quite right, but it's good practice. :3 I'll be makin' little prints of this guy to take to future conventions with me.
the other lil' Random Index Card pieces were fairly popular!
So far, so good.

Whoa, I really like the animal and how you drew its fur but what I exceptionally like about this drawing is how the animal exists as part of its environment. It isn't merely a drawing thats been added to an environment or vice versa, there is a real feeling of substance and connection between the earth, the grass, the animal, and the sun. I love it!

Looks pretty cool! Although everything looks (amazingly) textured, one can distinguish the critter from the background, which is something, I think, not very easy to achieve when using a single media. Well done!

Your getting extremely good with ball point pens! Love the pose and background, and I think the lighting effect is pretty neat with leaving a white outline around the critter. Very very nice ^^

I started practicing with just doodles. stuff I never intended to be "neat" ... after a while you pick up techniques on HIDING YOUR MISTAKES!!! XD don't think I don't make them, I do it all the time. But I've gotten really good at hiding them, or converting the image to work with them.
If you look at my deviation "Change of Fate" ... the Zack commission one...
the blood was NOT originally part of the image... my pen leaked and spattered, so I needed alot of dark pen in that area to fix it.

XDD Usually when I want to try ballpoint pen I never know what to even draw so when I do draw its like "what am I drawing man!?" XD I'll keep on practicing though :3 Just gotta find my art mood

I love painting blood XD specially with watercolor ^^ like not in a morbid way but it just looks so real and nice LOL

but alot of my random critters start out like that. me just drawing whatever comes to mind. 
I made it work. ^_^ otherwise I mighta given him gloves or something. XD (I did an Edward Elric once with lightning energy derived from an ink splatter. ... but I gave that one to Vic Mignogna.
