Description
My first DA submission that is larger than 8.5x11this project was with a medium I haven't used much before, I was required to use it for a class and liked it so much I did a full scale peice. This dragon was done ENTIRELY in charcoal, no sketching before hand or anything,
18x24 orriginal size, black Charcoal on Rough Newsprint.
estimated project time: 8 hours...

I quite enjoyed working with Charcoal! ... it's a little harder to manage now that I no longer have a class... and plenty of room to work with...

Anyway, I remember trying out charcoal :s it didn't turn out so well.

Even though you've done this with charcol, looking at it by far, you can't tell if it's a pencil drawing or not! Very well done indeed

I love that so much! I'm dawing with charcol now too and i love it! So great, yours are so much better than mine though, i want to put mine up but i dont have a scanner yet. Such good art, i wish i could draw half as good.

I didn't scan it... I actually hung it on the wall and put a halogen light on it and took a digital photo. the scanners weren't big enough, and besides... charcoal would dirty the scanner. Also I did this on Newsprint... which is PANSY paper... and would probably die in the scanner.

well... I did clean it up a little on photoshop... and the halogen light REALLY helped. because it's... well.... shiney!

Its in the hallway/door to the bathroom so not only is it in the middle of traffic going to and from my brother and my room it is also stinky depending on the foot traffic from the bathroom, yuck!
