Frame size: 20 x 20
Always wanted to do this little guy. If you don't know, Pokémon Yellow (or "Game'n Yellow" as I fondly call it) was my very first video game. I had gotten it for my birthday with a yellow Gameboy Color and a big MadCatz gaming bag. (Still have all but my original Gameboy, but I now have two different Pokémon ones) Anyway, Game'n Yellow was the 3rd installment of the Pokémon games in the US (After Red & Blue which came out at the same time), but was still part of the first generation of Pokémon games. It was made with extras featured in the Anime TV show. (which I faithfully watched for years until it was moved to CN) So, Pikachu was the big star of the game. And just like in the show, Pikachu refused to stay in its Pokéball, allowing him to follow behind you throughout your journey. Not only that, but he was the only Pokémon to have his voice recorded allowing him to say his name and have cries for various occasions.
You were also able to turn behind you and talk to Pikachu. Depending on his mood, an animation box would appear and you could watch Pikachu love, hate, nap, ect. He even had special animations for when he was poisoned or paralyzed. (I am currently working on these)
All in all, I hold Game'n Yellow dear to my heart and it always brings me joy to see this little sprite.
Pikachu and sprite design belong to Nintendo & GameFreak

This is super duper cute. ;u; When it comes to pixel art, my favorite things are the giant complicated pieces and the teeny tiny sprites like this.

One thing about sprites, is that there's not a whole lot of room for the level of detail, expressiveness, and attention that you normally give your characters. And a mini-sprite? Well, that's just doubly so. From what I can see, though, you did alright here.

So true.
This sprite would be seen behind your protagonist. That's why it's so small. (It actually looks smaller than the original, because the Gameboy color had larger pixels)

I remember this. I used to play yellow years ago and I still have it. My favorite animation is the one when you talk to pikachu right after you fish XD. Pikachu would have a bucket on top of it's head it was so cute lol.

I still have mine too.
Really? I guess I never fished much. I barely remember that! XD
(It was cute though. Now that you reminded me)
My favorite was when he learned Thunderbolt. You talk to him and he sparks his cheeks. Then it goes back to the main screen and you hear his signature "Pi-ka-CHU!!" This is coupled with the sound of thunder and the screen flashing black and white. It was epic.

I don't remember the thunderbolt one. I may have seen it but it doesn't really click much.

Here's what it looks like. m.youtube.com/watch?v=XAJLN0K9…
To activate it, just talk to Pikachu right after her learns Thunderbolt.
