My eleventh hour submission for the Sonic Versus contest being hosted by Archie. I'm most certain I won't win. There is some serious talent involved in this competition, but I wanted to be involved regardless.As per the rules you had to depict Sonic versus your favorite villain other than Robotnik/Eggman. Took me a bit since there are quite a few villains Sonic's gone up against over the years, Sega/DiC/Archie/Fleetway considered, so it took some thinking. In the end the villain I respected the most and wished Sonic faced off against more often was one of his first. Plus I'm not seeing enough Metal Sonic love in this contest anyway so I thought I'd levy my support.
Since it was so late in submission there are some parts I'm not completely happy with, but in the end it won't matter. I know I'm not gonna win, but I'm happy to at least be part of the contest. Good luck to those involved.

I haven't given a critique to anything in a while, but this piece caught my eye again after I faved it some time ago and I can't help it ^^
I really adore the movement dash lines, as well as the poses; you did a fantastic job capturing action in this piece, and between these two, it's practically guaranteed to be a classic as soon as you hit submit. I also think this piece is enhanced because not only is the action prevalent, but Sonic's expression is full of tension as he takes on the mechanical menace in a full-out battle royal.

The chains were also the part I hated most about the work. I can't stand drawing chains- so tedious, but it had to be done for the piece.

love the the way you posed both sonic and metal. really shows how fast they are going as they trade blows with each other.
Also, I'm really digging the background, great show of depth, not to mention I love the reference to Sonic CD

...man do I hate drawing chains though.
And it'd be pretty hard for me not to honor one of the best Sonic games ever?

I tried to mix it up a bit and combine the fighting from the OVA with the scenery of SonicCD. I'm pretty happy with it.

Eh, I don't mean to sound like I'm coming down on myself. Besides the couple details I'm not happy with (Metal's afterburner flame, and the chain) I'm actually quite satisfied with the outcome. I merely mean that even though I'm content with it my best isn't enough to compete with the likes of , You!, , , , etc. But it doesn't matter to me. I had fun drawing it and I'm happy to be just a part of the contest.
