What a beautiful painting! Love how you captured the crested grebe, laying deep in the water with almost no wings shown. The coloring is wonderful; blue and light brown harmonize well with each other and the reddish brown crest sets a great accent.
Fantastic idea with the books and letters in the background. I see this in so many artworks of yours. Really like it! ;D

Nice. I used to use those in my paintings a while back. I've often thought about revisiting flurishes. Have you seen the work of Eric Yevak? ericyevak.tumblr.com/ He uses these patterns in a unique way.
