The Story:
Maxine Gibson of “Batman Beyond” wearing the Green Bay Packers home green #12 as requested by BlueDragonKaiser .

My Breakdown:
I’m pretty ashamed to admit this, but she was one of my favorite characters of this series and I completely forgot about her. With that said, this is my first time drawing her, and I’m pretty sure it won’t be the last…I’ll see to that.

I’ve seen this pose plenty of times, and I thought it would look good for her, so I had to go with that. Things started smoothly, and there wasn’t much trouble until I got to her hands. Things didn’t quite go the way I would have liked there, but it definitely wasn’t the worst I’ve done. One thing I can say is that I still need practice doing characters that wear lipstick…I’m never really satisfied by the way they look.

I’ve done the Packers uniform a few times before, this is one of the easier designs out there, so it wasn’t too difficult to get done. The home color was requested, and was posted here, but I also have a couple alternates posted in my blog.

I’m still going with this same style of background that I’ve been using recently, following the design from some old basketball cards that I found laying around the apartment. I decided to add a larger copy of this image, as well as adding a few dynamics to the background to keep it from looking too plain.

On a side note, QB Aaron Rodgers wears the #12 on this team, some guy made a song about him last year, put it on Youtube www.youtube.com/watch?v=smmWum… , and I think he even made an appearance on somebody’s morning news show. While I'm not necessarily a Packers fan, I did find that video amusing.

What I Like Most:
I am very proud of her eyes; that’s an area that rarely lets me down. Back in May, I tried a few experiments using a different style with eyes, (which was not posted here) I didn’t like how that looked, but I kept tweaking things and I came up with a newer way of doing it. It’s not that much different from my approach the past couple years, but I can tell the difference.

What I Dislike Most:
I wasn’t exactly sure where I was going with her facial expression here. I guess I had an idea in mind, but I couldn’t get it to look the way I wanted to. Also, there wasn’t much effort needed for her hair, but that didn’t mean that I should have made it as lopsided as I did. This is certainly not the worst effort with hands, but not my best either. My confidence in hands has been pretty high lately, so I could have done better than this.

My sincere apologies for being so lazy, and taking this long.
