Description Sorry, quick drawing done too quickly... but a question because i'm curious? :>

Of those who draw digitally with a tablet, how do you usually sit when you draw? I've noticed people giving me weird looks on my typing posture at work so that got me thinking...

I have friends who also prefer laying on the ground ... but that doesn't seem comfy to me

As for mine,

I tend to push the table real high and rest my head on it as I have my tablet in my lap, under the table... :'DĀ

I'm on a couch rn with my arm between the tablet and the computer, tablet resting diagonally. If I put it on the laptop, the magnetic pull from the laptop makes the mouse stay at the top of the screen, so they can't touch. Otherwise I'd probably put it on the keyboard... but then again I like to be able to reach the keys, so having my left hand on the keyboard and my tablet on my left forearm is pretty much perfect.

It is accept for the fact that I almost get cramp in my left shoulder blade after a while cause I always have that hand on contr+z and at the same time I unintentionally keep the arm tense :/ I think that has to do with the way I sit somehow, lol.

awwwww ;u; sorry to hear that!Ā

Ahaha I know what you meaan!Ā

I have ctrl+z shorcutted to a button on my tablet so I'm always holding the tablet with my right hand while drawing with my left. and the tablet will be sitting in my lap as i do this.. XDD It's works for me!

hm well I think its an interesting idea mainly because you don't need to see what your hand is really doing. hnm bit I suppose using the mouse is the same way

I usually go for 2 or 4, haha. I also like lying down, but then my nervous system decides I don't have an arm anymore and I have to flail as hard as I can to get feeling in my arm back. o.O Seeing your own arm, knowing it's your own arm, but your body feeling like it's some strange body part touching you is...

Jayolin In reply to aegis-of-justice [2013-10-25 04:42:06 +0000 UTC]

lololol.. yeaah i've tried that too.. and my arm just numbs out too fast for me to get anything done.. though it also happens when i sleep funny haha

creedibomb [2013-10-25 03:05:35 +0000 UTC]

Depends where I am XD

If I'm in the dining room, I'm doing posture 1

If I'm in the living room at the coffee table, the table is taller then me and I'm sitting on the floor so like my arm is way higher than it should XD

and If I'm in my bedroom is switches from being crossed legged with tablet in lap and hunched over or laying on my stomach and drawing (my arm falls asleep a lot and then I have to switch and then my back hurts so I have to switch again XD)

I'm complicated.

Jayolin In reply to creedibomb [2013-10-25 03:14:53 +0000 UTC]

ohh that makes sense!

I feel i lose my concentration unless i'm sitting up, so as soon as I lay in my bed, all of my productivity is lost!

But switching it up is probably better for your posture too!

creedibomb In reply to Jayolin [2013-10-25 03:47:19 +0000 UTC]

I also fine that 4 is comfy.... until you feel it in your buttbone XD

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Jayolin In reply to creedibomb [2013-10-25 03:54:12 +0000 UTC]

or in this case.. you stop feeling it... XD .. i always get a numb butt from sitting like that.. XD

Freedom-of-my-Soul [2013-10-25 02:51:44 +0000 UTC]

I go between two and four, because I'm weird, But I mostly do traditional drawings if I can.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Jayolin In reply to Freedom-of-my-Soul [2013-10-25 02:57:01 +0000 UTC]

sitting like four is really comfortable~

ohh! traditional drawing! hmm, that made me wonder too on how some people find it rather hard to transition from being used to have to look at your hand when drawing~Ā

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Freedom-of-my-Soul In reply to Jayolin [2013-10-25 03:45:44 +0000 UTC]

I still find it rather hard but I'm getting used to it. It just that you get used to having to look at what you draw, as you used your hand to draw it with ink/pencil, that not looking at the direction you're drawing is difficult. but for me...It was just getting used to the technology XD

Jayolin In reply to Freedom-of-my-Soul [2013-10-25 03:55:14 +0000 UTC]

ohh! yeaah yeaah! Ā

I've been using a tablet to draw for long enough now that I don't even think much of it which is why i usually have it under the table.Ā

But.. that definitely can be a bit strange at first.Ā

Jayolin In reply to HiroAnimation [2013-10-25 02:51:22 +0000 UTC]

ahaha.. i was trying to think of ways people usually draw.. and the first to will probably be most common~ hmm but thanks for the answer~ i'm .. i'm curious!

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

HiroAnimation In reply to Jayolin [2013-10-25 04:09:21 +0000 UTC]

lol no problem. Sometimes with a normal sketch book I lay on my stomach on my bed when i draw.
