I like the white on black look, and the pattern parts look almost batiked. Great expression, too.

batik is a way of dying things using wax that gives dye resistance to shape-areas in fabric. The cloth is dyed one color until satisfactory, then other areas in the cloth are waxed to retain that color, and the cloth is redyed another color. Not exactly what's shown here, but I have a butterfly batiked lava lava that my parents brought me from hawaii, that has intricate colors in parts of the wings.

see, that's what i adore about your work! you're always experimenting and trying and everything comes out so creative! gosh, this is beautiful. i love how the background is black so her clothes just fade into it. and then the patterns on the cloth and butterflies... it's amazing. ; ; :fav:

Hmm This is a style I like. It reminds me of many inlayed tables and such from okinawa. The depth of it is especially similar. I like the simple colors as well. They make certain aspects seem mysterious.
