I am at a loss between the two, they both convey the spirit of exploration at such a massive scale.

This is awesome! I think each landscape really feeds off of the other! As I referenced back and forth between each image, I found your use of lighting and working with haze and atmospheric perspective to be superb. And on another note, [freaking] awesome. I enjoy the image as it is.

nice studies! I like the top one more, because it makes better use of contrast, and the focal point is a lot clearer...both are cool though

Fantastic work as usual I like the second one allot, it has an awesome feeling of mystery to it. Makes me wonder what the structure in the background is.
Can you tell my +/- how much time each one took?
Thank you for sharing, and more please!

Both impressive. Bottom one has the most interesting composition. Top one only has two center of interest.

i prefer the top one, it is very abstract and looks pretty dangerous
the second one is awesome too, didn't notice they were diving at first because i assumed it was more or less the same show place as the top picture

I personally like the bottom one, though it was a tough choice. Being underwater, all dark and moody really appeals to me. I can just imagine the inky blues for that one

I prefer the suspension in the second one. How the divers float. Makes the atmosphere more surreal.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

AL13N [2011-03-27 15:59:06 +0000 UTC]

That is just amazing! I'd say I like the divers more because of the incredible sense of depth and the feeling of them actually submerging in some liquid. However, the first picture is also great because of the snow being blown at an angle.

Exphrasis [2011-03-27 11:00:01 +0000 UTC]

I'm so loving the one at the bottom. People don't mix SF with underwater a lot nowadays. and the sense of scale is really sweet.
The one at the top is interesting too, but it reminds me too much of your other piece ' welcome to 2011 ( or 2010 ? ) ' .
So yeah, I'd tottaly go for the bottom one.

I think you did a wonderful job. The story telling is definitely there. For me the second painting provokes an interesting story. I can just feel them floating/ swiming through the water in astonishment, wonder and fear for what they might find. I don't think that the mood with the two painting is all that different though. The stories could be of the same individuals it seems because the structure maybe a ship of some futuristic sort is in both of them. Nonetheless you did a wonderful job. I can't wait to start to do environments and landscape. Keep up the good work! OH and I LOVED your dreamscape movie! Wonderful job! Who was the guy walking and doing the talking?

Both are amazing man I really like the feeling of motion in the first in the characters. You can really feel them struggling against the wind in that one. Also the characters in the second one instantly put it under water. Without them it could be a space scene but the characters do a good job in both of the scenes in telling the story.

I envy your Lasso tool skills and it's something I'm working on myself now so thanks for all the good viewing material.

They are both equally impressive. However it's interesting the order you have stacked the two compositions in as it gives me the imediate impression of above land and beneath the sea.

I think the one below is my favourite...the feeling of depth is evident. I'm particularly struck by what looks like reckage, the stong interesting shapes. Both compositions work straight away narratively, look forward to seeing more.

What's the time frame you spend on each piece?
