Description Hello! Welcome to the official 2015 Triskala reference, an original species by yours truly. I've been wanting to make an original species for a long time and i'm happy to finally present the DA community a presentable in depth reference for them.

--

Rules
Please feel free to design your own - but make sure to go by this reference
When you design one, do not make them have too many rare qualities. Because you know - they're rare.
Designs must be approved by me/shown to me
Albinos and Melanisms can only be obtained by adopting from me or commissioning a custom by me!
You may NOT make adoptable sheets - design your own, but do not sell them - only I alone can do that.
Have fun - I'd love to see a bunch of Triskalas on DA!

Information
(The A,B,C... 1234... ect refers back to the numbers and letters on the visual reference above!)

A - An Overview

"Tri" meaning 3 for 3 pairs of legs.
And "Skala" meaning scale in swedish
These guys stand on an average of 4 feet tall standing on all 6s.
Males and females do not have much of a physical difference at all. Females will usually have fuller eye lashes, but that's about it.
"Light Tone Spots" - Areas of the body that are a lighter color variation than the rest. These are a MUST - It wouldn't be a a Triskala without them!

1) Triskalas have huge eyes. Big, happy, puppy dog eyes. They have light tone spots under their eyes.
2) Their "Mane" stretches from their forehead to the tip of their tails. It is made of corse, long hair or fur. It must be the same color as their eyes and light tone spots on their body.
3) The paws are canine like. The front two paws have non-retractable claws, but the middle and back ARE retractable. Claws are always jet black.
4) The tail gets flatter the farther down you go, much like a shark tail or a standard dinosaur tail. It is very thick and strong.

B - Facial Features & Structure

Triskalas have round, pudgy faces.
Their ears are standardly long and floppy, like a hound's.
Their noses are a lot like a dinosaurs would be, round and stout, with lizard-like nose holes.
They have light tone spots on the ends of their ears.
This Triskala is showing of the Albino Coloration. Nearly white base color, and lgith tones that are darker than their base color - which would never occur on any other coloration type.

5) Their tongue is wide and flat, and is the same color always as their scales.
6) Their teeth are round (except the molars in the back)

C - Scale Patterns

7) Where their is red, Triskalas are very likley to be born with patches of scales in those areas! It's very common. Where there is orange, Triskalas sometimes have patches there, but it's not seen as much as the red patches (but it's still common) Those patches are usually smaller. Where there is yellow, patches rarley go their - usually it has to be in their family liniage somewhere to get scales there! Adn finally the blue/teal - having patches there is VERY uncommon, "ultra rare" Those scales are usually a lot bigger in size than the rest.

D - Paws & Claws
8) the very front paws have retractable claws, as stated before. all the claws are jet black blahblahblah
9) the first two pairs of legs both look like standard front legs. they will have light tone spots around their pads - which resemble dogs paws (although they do have a dew claw and pad on each facing inward low on their legs like a feline)
10) The back leg's light tone spots extend downward extra past their pads.

bulletpurple:E - Ears and Coloration

11) "Hound" These are the common, standard ears of a triskala. They can be as short as down to their chin, or as long as down to their shoulders. This triskala is showing off the Melanism coloration - Dark nearly jet black base color, with a dark light tone color. The scales can be bright though.
12) "Puppy" These ears are short floppers. Common.
13) "Piglet These ears stick up naturally but flop down at the ends. These are rare.
14) "Cropped" These ears are not natural! - they are cropped, like a dogs can be. These are as common as if you'd like to crop your Triskala's ears or not - anyone can have a croped eared Triskala - just know they are not natural.

Now go out and have fun making one! Link me here or on my profile!
