"Another year has gone by. Another holiday we can't spend together. I just can't see the point," he whispered.
"The point? You're tired of meeting me?" she hissed fiercely, her eyes burning wildly despite the falling snow that drifted around them.
"The point of you still waiting for somebody who can't be there," he responded dully.
"The point, is that I love you, and there's no reason to doubt one another with silly things like patience. I know I'll always have you, no matter what," she smiled kindly, but he didn't return the favor.
The wind whipped around them, and she couldn't stand the way he looked. It bothered her that he was this much in conflict. If this was the last time she would see him for a long time, even if it was only a dream, she would not rest until they were bound together, no matter what.
She placed a hand on his wrist, not unkindly, and felt the gloom flow into her, as if they were one being, with the same emotions and their one heart beating.
"I'll find you," she promised. "No matter how long it takes,"
He smiled this time, and her hand slided down to his, and they remained close together, while the snow continued to fall around them.

Even though it's not Christmas here, lives a day ahead of me, so this is my gift to him.
