I go out looking for shots like this. Just find a location and try to visualise what the background will look like bokeh'd... then just wait... I had the camera poised for this shot, this was the second shot of two shots.

I love your bokeh shots!! They are very inspiring. I fear for what the subject might say if they caught me taking a picture of them. It's hard to be discreet with DSLR with a maximum zoom lens of 105mm.

hmm... it shouldn't be that hard. Most people don't notice and I think it's actually slightly easier with say a 35mm or 50mm, since you can point it past them, not directly at them. Just do it with confidence...
