Kitten, for *gabbyd70 's Five Themes Contest .I loved doing the fur! It was a lot of fun. I've really taken to charcoal - it's much more fun than pencils were (not that they weren't fun). You can get much blacker hues and you can smudge/blend more easily. Used this picture for reference but my printout was in black and white so I decided to work in black and white.

This is so cute. The fur looks amazing. The nose is a little to long and the front paws a tad stubby. I do know kitties like to tuck their little paws under though. ^^ you did great with this one, my fav out of your traditional works.

Gosh this is old. Thanks very much for the feedback, I agree with everything you said. Annoyingly, the photo I used for reference seems to have been deleted so I can't compare my drawing with the original any more.

Well that's alright. There is always next time. Once in a while when I don't like how something looks, i'll find another pic and merge the two, or 3...or 4. lol It's also always wise to take a break and come back an hour later with fresh eyes. ^^

this is so good! I wish I could draw realisticly but I can only do manga and anime but I'll try even if it ends up looks really bad !

I think you've captured the fur brilliantly. Overall shape is good too. I think working with charcoal suits you.
Very messy but it is alot of fun and as you say you can blend/smudge more easily.

This is very good. I like the sketchiness to it, though it doesn't look like a sketch. I like the usage of bold lines and soft lines as well. The paws are so cute! I really want to pet this kitten! Its face looks a little squished compared to the size of its body and the angle of its head, but its not that noticable. All in all, great work! This is very good.
