Well been so busy so this new concept drawing of Cthulhu took me longer than I actually planned, I am just so swamped.Anyways I decided I wanted to go back closer to the originally of what H.P Lovecraft envisioned of what Cthulhu looked like but I still retained some elements of my previous concepts but I also took a liberty of changing the wings from bat wings to wings that looked feathered but are actually modified scales or plates, just thought that would be cool.

The best part is, until the great one actually shows himself, there will never be a right or wrong art piece of him. :3 besides, even if we did get a chance to stay sane enough to see him, we'd all be screwed anyways, unless we've already cast our lives to him. Beautiful work however. Dunno if I've ever seen the dark priest with bio-luminescent parts. well done ^^

pretty cool interpretation, i like the bio luminesance. I would try working the wing plates more, my brain keeps reading them as avian feathers

never would have thought of cthulhu with bird-ish wings i started but nice idea and i like the neon glow from his head

I dig his headdress. The machined slits that allow the glow of his head to show are way cool.

Wing is basically an arm. It should have shoulder and elbow, even if it belongs to an alien High Priest.
Still stunning, nevertheless.

Thanks, I like it too I think my other Cthulhu concepts I will still keep but only as Cthulhu spawn as so far in my readings of Lovecraft I have not seen to much info on his/her spawn so I can be pretty free reign on that. One of my favorite parts as to be the tail tentacles and the glowing ends was really an after thought because it was looking al little boring with out black lighting. I can't wait till my school work eases up so that I can start to do more full compositions of this new version but even before then I want to get some more views and refinements done.

Very nice shade and highlight work. the anatomy seems a to be a little odd when i do a quick scale in my head. or it could just be a fact i only see one arm and leg! I like the tail the most.

Thanks, I guess it would have to be that it is a straight profile concept as I was really just figuring out the design of him for now. I plan on doing bigger full blown compositions with this design as I think this is my best that I like so far.
