Personal 8 page comic project for the summer
Completed about over a year ago for a class, and re-adjusted as a final piece.
An old story of love, friendship; bonds unbreakable even through thousands of years of reincarnation.
I wanted to tell this story through the various art styles from Ancient Vietnam, and mostly ancient pre-colonial Southeast Asian art from Malaysia and the Philippines.
I will post a page everyday until the entirety is online. UNLIKE WHAT I HAVE BEEN DOING LATELY WITH EVERYTHING ELSE FFFFFff

This was so lovely! I loved how different each story was, and even though there were only a few panels on each page (except the last one), you could get the entire story. Sometimes they only met in passing; sometimes they were best friends; sometimes they were lovers; and sometimes they loved then lost. I'm not quite sure I understand the title of this, but I like it nonetheless.

Such a wonderful little story with both changing imagery and themes. This first one tells so much with so little, that must be the reason to why I like really old painting. Not much of a perspective but simple and somewhat direct.
Have you seen any artworks from stoneage Europe? Most of what I know is simple and carved into stone. In the other end we have those the "bullcave" in Spain, animals with so fluid lines that they still seems to leap across the wall.

I love how you play with styles in your work, and I especially like how the style of the artwork is visibly shifting in the last panel as the story shifts to a different time. Visual play is one of my all-time favorite things in comics.

I love the ancient art style! Somehow it makes the crocodile look even more scary. When I saw the skeletons in the final panel, I was like, Wha...? But it's only the first page and they're already dead?

I drew in the lines using frisquet and then waited for it to dry before painting layers of water color. Then tried not to rip the paper by ripping those off haha.
And maybe 8% photoshop lol.
