Selene is a Greek Titan goddess of moon🌛
Darkness or Light? In the process of coloring I got two color options. Couldn't choose which one I like most (I already painted Selena in white before, and it seems that the dark dress is more pleasant to my eyes, and the contrast is not so sharp there, but in white it more closely matches my idea of the moon goddess and details of dress can be seen better) so decide for yourself which one you like best

This is an amazing piece of work! I really love the colours and the contrasts, which are what initially drew me in. The moons on her outfit pop right out at me, and it adds a interesting dynamic to the whole piece. Her pose and the motion of the piece are also very well done, gives her kind of a graceful gentle feel coupled with her expression.
I'd really say this piece looks nicer than the white one in your description, mostly because of the contrast I mentioned earlier.
The only thing that kind of stuck with me was her leggings. I don't know if you were trying to create a crescent shape with the edges of the two leggings being lined up like that, but it ended up kind of making her look like she's wearing a tube over both legs instead of leggings. A really minor detail though, on a truly fantastic piece.

I definitely like both, but I can see what you mean: The dark dress allows us to see the actual moon itself, without the white dress distracting us from it.

Both are beautiful, though generally I prefer dark colours I have to say the white really pops.
There's no reason why it can't be both - she is a Goddess after all! Perhaps her garments are purple for new moon and white for full moon, then get progressively darker or lighter depending on whether the moon is waning or waxing, respectively.

I like them both. To me, the darker version is Selene as the waning moon and the bright version is Selene as the waxing moon.
