Description
For two years, I have been drawing ponies. Two whole years, and in those two years I've deviated from pony maybe...a handful of times. So, I shut myself down to pony art this week, and went ahead and made myself do something I actually WANTED to do. And to take more than one day to do it, so that I did not just go and post something so very obviously unfinished.
I love landscape drawing/painting. Two nights ago, I used the watercolors my girlfriend gave me to kind of paint a grotto-like scene with mountains at sunset. Dunno if I'll upload that, since it's kind of my first time doing watercolors since I was four, but, ya know. Then, I wanted to do something with my computer. So, I drew this. It started out very, very basic, and I was tempted to post the basic, soft, rushed kind of scene last night. But I held myself back, let myself go until today, and came back...and I saw it in a new light.
Taking my time, and drawing something for ME, that wasn't pony or trying to vie for views...well, it just feels good. Sorry for the lack of the pony thing, but, yeah. My gallery, my art, my rules, I post what I want.

As usual, very awesome. And I'm glad you were able to take a step back from ponies and do something you really wanted to.
Art should always be a for the person creating it, not because its another thing they feel pressured to do.

Description is a bit ... disconcerting.
That aside, I quite like the artwork. Very well accomplished. Landscapes are always welcome.

I'll disconcert you!
Eh, I've just not been drawing enough of what I want. Been feeling obligated as of late to draw pony, and, well, I wanna explore a bit outside that once in a blue moon.

That's what concerns me really.
You made it sound like you've been forcing yourself to draw ponies rather than drawing what you truly want.
Not something you should be doing mate, if you are.
If you wanna draw a landscape, draw a landscape. If you feel like drawing a turtle, draw a turtle.
As long as you're drawing what you want and not what you feel you need to be drawing.
Just my 2 cents.

Sometimes it feels that way. I like drawing the pone, don't get me wrong, but I've been doing it for so long, with like NO other artistic endeavors in between, that I'm just...bored and frustrated, like I'm stuck in a rut. I'm gonna try and expand a bit, and get rid of this claustrophobic feeling.
Also, a turtle could be damn adorable to draw.

As long as you're having fun I'll support that idea 100%
ps: Draw a momma turtle with 5 baby turtles for maximum adorableness ^^

I also appreciate a good landscape (even if this one has no actual land).
