Follow up (sorta) to this piece: [link] Who or what she's searching for is up to you. I have a story in my head, but...more fun if you guys interpret. :3I wanted to go back and see if I could still do my sketchy style, while keeping the coloring technique of my new style. It's not quite the same, to be completely honest; with this sketchy style, I'm much more prone to blurring my shadows, whereas the lined art is more solid shadows. But the shadows for the lined art have less depth.
Weird, huh? Either way, enjoy!

Oh dear... I just had a really upsetting idea of what this picture could be about...
She went mountaineering with her Dad and they got separated and now she's searching for him... That's why she's never mentioned her parents and that's why she never hears from them and that's why they weren't in the audience of the Best Young Flyer Competition...
As for what happened to her Mum, I have no idea...

Sometimes, I seriously doubt Rainbow Dash even has family.
What have we got after all? One flashback containing an individual with a similar mane, and that could be an elaborate self-delusion.
Of course; My headcanon is that her dad was a single parent after something happened to her mum. I don't know... They probably divorced or something like that.
It explains a lot.
Now Applejack on the other hand... My headcanon paints her as being orphaned shortly after Apple Bloom was born, which is more evil.

Neat style! I like it quite a lot! The sketchiness is most visible around RD's edges and I think that gives the piece a unique feel. Very nice.

That's a tough one. Perhaps alternate styles depending on the piece and your mood? It would be sad to abandon one for the other.
