Description "What be this?! Scribbles?! I SAY!"

After the last submission, I was still in a drawing mood, but couldn't settle on something spesific. After some sketching, I decided to just scribble out some random lines and see what I could make out of it.

So this will turn into something (in fact, it's almost ready) but I figured I'd give you the chance to guess what it'll turn into. Seemed people enjoyed it the last time I did it.

Stay tuned!

EDIT:

And here it is! Actually held on to it a bit longer to get people wondering. Because I'm awesome like that.

Yes. I see a girl scuba diver in a dress being approached by a large eel. Why? Who knows.

I decided from the start I was going to do this in black and white crosshatching, something I've been planning to do for a submission for ages, but it always turned into something different. That being said, I should really have done this on paper since it's quick to do proper crosshatching that way, but since I started out with some random scribble in photoshop, I continued from there. Took ages redrawing the lines from the initial sketch, but it turned out fairly ok.

The way the lines turned out didn't work that well for colouring though, as I had an entirely different shading method in mind. However, just leaving it black and white seemed a bit unfinished, so I went for a subtle grayscale so I could keep the lines as they were.

Some great suggestions by the way. Almost tempted to try some of them, but we'll see.

In the meantime, enjoy!

I'm truly amazed. It might just be the art style, but this feels like what would happen if 20000 leagues beneath the sea would meet Alice in wonderland. I am completely and utterly amazed.

Wow... I'm having a hard time trying to articulate a proper comment... This is so hauntingly beautiful... I love the detail and the contrast, the grey wash certainly helps to give depth.

It really does look like something from Alice in Wonderland. A whole book illustrated like this would be lovely.

That crosshatching...

(And this is dumb, but I like your signature stamp thingy and how it both stands out and blends with the picture C: )

I can't believe this is a digital work, it loos hand crafted. But anyway this is really good, and I love the horror concept behind it.

It reminds me of a 1950s horror movie Would a little girl go scuba diving in a dress in the 1950s? Of course!

This is really good mate I think the hatching is great, and the detail you've put into it is simply awesome. Consider it favourited

Love the expression on the girl's face! XD
Priceless!

Looks like an underwater version of Little Red Riding Hood. On her way to her grandma who lives in a round bungalow beneath the sea, she wanders off the beaten path to look at some anemones and is surprised by some eels lurking in the shadows of the coral. Me likes lotsies! And black and white; Not unfinished ^^ I like plain, black and white pictures. You did awesome with the grayscale on this one

Nice, scary, creepy fisheses.... o.O

I may not possess any expertise or experience or knowledge about diving, but I don't think a dress is all that practical for the task. Slightly more relevantly, that eel is HORRIFYING.

I must admit I'm amazed by the diversity of styles and ideas you show here, while keeping up the high level of polish. That's something which is rarely seen even in the times of internet galleries - and you even scarcely turned 23 this october. Congratulation!

I like this picture very much. Do you know John Tenniel's illustrations for Alice in Wonderland? This could be a modern variation of it. Kudos.

Holy ... wow. Those details! Fantastic. And I really like the crosshatching too. It's superb. Also, her expression is great. The whole thing makes me think of nightmares I had as a kid.

The look on the girl's face is great!
And I love the details of the eel. The sea flowers it has, it's because it's a fashionable eel? (I love it when ugly creatures try to put some accessories to be beautiful, the contrast is generally great!)
