Description

Orion looked up as his mate led a gro he had never met before into their living room. He looked slightly curious, but hesitant.

Noelani was in her thoughts. How would she explain this. She hope he'd understand. She looked up at him and gave him a small wave.

Orion waved back shyly, standing up to greet her. "Me, Orion." He signed.

"I brought her to help you out with your, little dilemma." Kosta said with a smile. "I'll give you two some privacy now." She said, leaving the room.

Noelani offered her hand to shake. "I'm Noelani! I-I hope you you're doing well!" She smiled

Orion shook her hand and nodded. He stood there a moment, not sure how to start. "Voice, wrong" he signed. "Not, match, Orion"

"Oooh. Y-You're trans right? Like me!" She smiled

Orion nodded and blushed. "My...voice gives it away.." he said quietly

Noelani cleared her throat, as her voice went to a lower tone than normal. "I guess, I could have given it away." She chuckled

Orion's ear perked up and he looked baffled.

He stared a moment, then tilted his head. "How...how did you do that?"

"Well, I do train my voice to go as high as it can and as low as it can. It makes me more comfortable with being trans." She smiled

"Tr...train your voice?" Orion looked to his claws. "You can make your voice more like...who you really are?"

"I guess!" She smiled. "But sometimes, I just get used to my normal voice. It's something I can't permanently change."

Orion nodded and looked to the floor a moment. "I hate my voice...its not who I am. Its female, and im not."

"I understand. I guess I do too. But, it's you. You hear your voice and that's you." She sighed. "I can't change my biological gender. It's how I am. But it doesn't change who I am."

Orion looked like he was eating up every word.

He never really had anyone who knew what he was going through to talk to. His sister and mate tried...but here...Noelani knew what he dealt with. He nodded and smiled slightly. "Y-yea...And Who I am is Orion. A guy who...really needs better social skills..." He gave a weak chuckle.

"I need better social skills too..You're not alone in this." She instantly gave him a big hug

Orion hesitated, then hugged back. "No one's...I've never...been able to just talk about this." He admitted. "I know they want to help me...but..."

"I guess you need someone who's going through it" She gave him a thumbs up

Orion nodded and rubbed the back of his neck. "So...how do we...make my voice so i feel comfortable talking with it?"

"well, It takes a lot of practice! I usually sing a lot. Like maybe in a higher range, until my voice gets used to it, but don't force it! It'll hurt if you do!"

Orion blushed and shrunk slightly. "S-sing? Like...around others?"

"Y-Yeah! You can sign around me!" She smiled

Orion blushed more and tried to hide his face. "L-like...try and sing like...a guy? Wont that sound...weird?"

"It'll sound weird at first! But the more you do it, the more natural it'll sound!" She smiled

Orion still tried to hid a few moments, then looked to the ground. "Uh....S-singing~ Singing~ Singing a s-song~" He tried to make his voice sound male as he made up a song.

Noelani joined in. "singing a song!~" She chimed in with her high pitched voice

Orion glanced up to her, unclenching slightly. "Singing~ Siiinging~" He straightened up slightly and tried to lower his voice.

It did sound a little more male, which made him try and sing louder.

Lani smiled! "See! You're doing great!"

Orion smiled slightly and tried to sing more Baritone. It was still female, and hurt his throat a little bit, but much less than before.

"Are you feeling more comfortable?

Orion nodded and tried to speak. "Y-yea." He said, trying to keep his voice low. "This...does feel more like me."

"See! Soon it'll become more natural!" She cheered

Orion wagged his tail slightly. "M-maybe soon, I can talk to people on the street! A-and, they will call my Sir."

"Yes they will, sir!" She smiled

Orion looked surprised a moment, then giggled and bounced. "Chii it feels so good to hear gros address me properly!"

"It's the normal thing to do, of course! I'd hate if someone misgendered me" She frowned

Orion nodded. "Clearly you are a woman." He said, trying to keep his voice deep.

Noelani smiled. “Thank you!”

Orion smiled and placed his hand on his neck. "I...want to be..comfortable..with who i am."

Orion nodded. "It's just....well...you know what its like." He smiled slightly. "Wow..i can actually say that now.."

She laughed. “Yeah, I understand, but just know, I-I’ll always be here for you.”

Orion smiled more, looking a little strange with his teeth sticking out.

She giggled. "I can see you're feeling better."

Orion nodded. "I feel.." He cleared his throat to go lower. "I feel, like I could talk to others like this."

"That's great!" She cheered

Orion smiled. "Would...you be willing to come over often, to help me?"

The question surprised Lani. No one really invited her over, She didn't have many friends. "S-Sure!" She turned to him, with a goofy smile

Orion smiled and giggled. "Great!"
