Description A view around my village Dunoon. One of my friends calls it 'The Shire', obviously after The Shire from The LOTR.

Dunoon is in the Northern Rivers/Far North Coast of New South Wales, Australia. It's on the edge of the Nightcap Ranges National Park and has a population of less than 200.

Dunoon is also the Macadamia Nut Capital of Australia <- Random fact for you there.

I adore this place.

Also, I love the fact that Deviantart knows more about my camera than I do.

Wow, I didn't think anyone from Dunoon had dA. Apparently there's only like 500 people that live there. Where was this taken, by the way? I used to live down the very end of Fraser Road, and now I work once a week on Duncan Road. I live in Lismore now, though. Nice shot. :3

Haha, yes I think I may be the only person in Dunoon who even knows what DA is.

I took this shot from Dunoon Road, going up the hill just outside of Dunoon (heading out Dorroughby way).

If I'm right in thinking that Fraser Road is the one up that hill near the old church place (I always get Fraser and Fletcher Roads mixed up), then you would have seen this view many a time . Although it probably looks a bit different, the area in the right foreground of the pic that is full of weeds used to be a timber pine forest, they logged that about a year ago.

Yep, Fraser Rd is up that hill where that Church is. Two years ago I lived right at the very end of that road, and it was a great place.

And yeah, I know where this is now. It's right near the turn off to Fraser Road. I come back to dunoon to visit friends quite a lot, so I noticed when they cut down the pine trees. I lived in Dunoon for twelve years and those trees were there for as long as i can remember.

I'm going to add this to my favourites because it's a very good representation of dunoon with the macadamia trees, green grass and red dirt. Living in lismore is more convinient, being close to the shops and stuff, but Dunoon is a really great place.
