Yeah, his character is very realistic for his age. It's a bit silly for people to dislike him for acting like anyone in his situation would act.

Hate fan 'Oh stop crying and whine about your mom and grow up' seriously EVERYONE is like that when they witness their parents death and worse they show how close they are.
Not ALL characters are going to be the hero with hidden emotions but they can still fight.
He's a teenager after all, at a sensitive time of his life

Exactly! If anything, he handles his situation with a surprising amount of courage. I love how he grows and matures through the course of the game.
